Does counter tower always have to be in range? I'm looking to stop him putting more tower. But if you are talking about my tower not covering each other you are right. I could have been punished for that.

Hello Ozberkoz, thanks for your kind comment. Defeat are when I learn the most personally. I think I could have denied him all his stone but I failed to do so in the time I had and I recognise that what he did in his early castle age was very good.

Joker, because I'm not good enough yet. You are right pointing out I had a lot of idle time on my military. I think I had a lot of things going on which made me loose a lot of time and I sacrificed military control.

Hello Grabik, very nice nice feedback you got there. I always sleep on getting some mango (took me sometime to figure what "SW" were). My thought were more turned toward keeping more map control/vision to prevent this kind of castle drop. Thanks again for the piece of advice I will try next time to get those mango.

Well I'm asking myself the same question, we were on a timer because green and blue got our other side. The composition on our side wasn't very good so our push was slow (we both went ranged). I hastily switched to almost trash cavalier but I had to put down fire at purple base too and we missed siege. All in all we didn't have the tools and time to finish grey.

@@Baron_Morg_Von_Wigard Yellow should go halbs and archer elephantos,you should go bbc and cavs/winged hussars. Then you should have a chance.

Yes, I invested to much on barracks before the castle age while I should have switch into archer, then I would have put more pressure on teal, I might even denied his front castle. Aaaah after game realisation.

Not very much used to build range in my tower rush. A common answer from the opponent is to make a mangonel once he reach castle age. While having some archer could be usefull the mangonel will make short work of them. A range is an investment which could slow my own castle age time. Now I might still be wrong on not a making a range.

I agree it was unfortunate, but that's the gamble of going tower rush. He responded well.

Yes 4 villager is the most you can achieve without bug. I had onetime 5 villager hitting the wall but there was a collision box bug and I didn't find out if I could reproduce it.

Well, it was my first time doing tower rush with Malay. I agree that if your opponent know how to react to a tower rush it is bad. Putting myself 5 villager behind is a bad move. Now those 2 extra villager I can get with the Malay bonus are something that just put me 3 villager behind and that's nice, I will work on it.

Thanks, you are right about moving the relics back. I didn't thought to get any thrash meat shield, I had control on all the gold and all the relic so he was going to starve from gold first. Yet you are right on skirmisher being a good choice here.

Thoughts

They did a very good job to take me out of the game and I didn't make the right unit choice to hold them.

Monks are my weakness, I often fail to see when I should use them. Sometimes it strike me after the game, "oh no I'm so dumb why didn't I make some monks". Also I'm scared to use monks against Teutons because of their team bonus, am I wrong?

@@Baron_Morg_Von_Wigard I think if you had build some monks in early casle, after the first castle was build, they would have paid for themselves. you had acces to at least 4 relics without needing to fight. later they can heal your units whenever you didn't use them. it is true that monks are worse vs teutons but any conversion at that point would be a bonus. because with the relic gold + some healing, they already did their job

@@Baron_Morg_Von_Wigard i really like italians unique units, the archer anti cavalry is really sick, but byzantine yolo skirms spears and siege is fun as well, what about u? and btw, they probably one day gonna add venice or papal states

Right now I prefer Sicilians and Romans. Sergeant and donjon is really something I like, Romans have very good bonus and I love to play infantry. Byzantine were my previous favorite because of the open tech tree and Italians are interesting because you can do a lot of thing with them too.

Yup you don't know what might come when you don't know the civ. The most instructive game I had with Bengalis was a mirror match, my opponent demonstrated what to do with them. Beware Bengalis monk and elephant archer. Romans are more classical with some very nice bonus helping them. You can expect scout rush and then knight from them. Scorpions and militia line might come in play. Beware of the centurions they are very beefy and can support the militia line.
