I'm a huge fan of Riders in the Sky and Hot Rize. I'd love to see the full episode of Austin City Limits from Season 12 in 1987. This episode features both bands and includes the production slate, countdown, voiceover, and credits.👍

I'd like to request that you upload the full episode of Austin City Limits from Season 12 in 1987. This episode featured Riders in the Sky performing cowboy music and Hot Rize performing bluegrass music on the Austin City Limits stage. The episode includes the Southwest Texas Public Broadcasting Council logo at the beginning, voiceover presenting Riders in the Sky and Hot Rize, Austin City Limits Season 12 intro and funding credits: Public Television Stations and Budweiser, closing credits with "London Homesick Blues" and the text reading "a production of The Southwest Texas Public Broadcasting Council (c) 1987", funding credits: Public Television Stations and Budweiser, Austin City Limits Book phone offer, and the 1984-1989 PBS logo at the end.👍

I don't have the Hot Rize segment, but all of the Riders performances from this show will be uploaded as individual clips. I'm really not interested in the official Austin City Limits channel (which is very much active) slapping me with a DMCA takedown if I post the whole episode.

When I was a kid, I always got so emotional during the end credits of this show. I'm not sure whether it was the "So Long Saddle Pals" song they sang at the end, or just that it meant the end of Saturday morning cartoons, and the beginning of Saturday afternoon chores? Perhaps it was a little of both.

The Riders' live-action Saturday morning show, the least remembered replacement for Pee-Wee's Playhouse, ran for only one season! Most of the episodes, recorded on VHS, are seen on KZbin!
I had been to Riders in the Sky performances twice, a very entertaining and talented group. It is a shame that more of their shows were not recorded. Thanks for posting this.

I recall watching this series on CBS on Saturday Mornings during 1991-92, first airing on the 8:00-8:30 a.m. half-hour timeslot for 2 weeks. At times, it would be pre-empted by Soul Train on my local CBS affiliate in my area. By winter 1991-92, the show moved to the 12:30-1:00 pm half-hour timeslot on Saturday afternoons at the end of Saturday Morning schedule. It would air right after reruns of Inspector Gadget. Then in mid 1992, it moved to 7:30 a.m.

This is real country music. I don’t know about the stuff that’s playing today or has been for the last 20 years aside from a few exceptions, but you really can’t get genuine country music unless you listen to little known musicians that barely have any exposure that they deserve. I don’t really think I would’ve heard of these guys if it weren’t for Toy Story 2 so props to Pixar forexpandingtheir audience.

@@mikerotch145 Or, you know, CBS can release the video rights as well as the tapes... That's unless they did like what ABC did to DuMont networks' archive. They really let these one-off series get degraded by improper storage all the time, so my expectations are low.
