Guys this all is old style. I tried it but my chromebook was halted on triminal. Install Google Chrome Flex instead of all this old stuf. Flex handles all process. No need ubuntu. Just make bootable USB from same google recovery extension. Instead of choosing your model number, choose google chrome Flex from list. It will do all you need. It is better than old chrome OS and upto date. It can be installed on Laptops and desktops also.
