Paul is convinced of the reconciliation of all creation by the blood of the cross, not just the human creation, whether things on earth (terrestial) or things in heaven (celestial). (See Col1:15-20) Paul also understands the mystery of God's will in the fullness of time to head up or gather together in one all things in heaven (the celestials) and all things on earth (the terrestrials) in Christ. (See Eph1:9,10) I'm pretty sure Mr. Heiser was familiar with the doctrines of "apokatastasis" as witnessed by Peter in Acts3:19-21 which God speaks through all His holy prophets since the world began. As a witness... those who sanctify themselves not only cast aside the majority of mankind to endless misery and separation from their Creator but they do so also with the devil and his angels. These got another thing coming for sure!!

All of creation shall be born into the new creation, whereas the man, Jesus of Nazareth, is the firstborn or prototype. In order for the sons of God to be judged by man (1Cor3:6), they must first be made subject to the death of man... as in Ps82:7 Colossians 1:15-20 Rotherham(i) 15 Who, is an image of the unseen God, Firstborn of all creation,-- 16 Because, in him, were created all things in the heavens and upon the earth, the things seen and the things unseen, whether thrones or lordships or principalities or authorities,--they all, through him and for him, have been created, 17 And, he, is before all, and, they all, in him, hold together; 18 And, he, is the head of the body, the assembly, Who is the beginning, Firstborn from among the dead, in order that, he, might become, in all things, himself, pre-eminent; -- 19 Because, in him, was all the fullness well pleased to dwell, 20 And, through him, fully to reconcile all things unto him, making peace through the blood of his cross,--[through him]--whether the things upon the earth or the things in the heavens; Ephesians 1:9-10 Rotherham(i) 9 making known to us the sacred secret of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him,-- 10 For an administration of the fulness of the seasons, to reunite for himself (under one head) the all things in the Christ, the things upon the heavens, and the things upon the earth, in him:

the problem with how someone interprets Hebrews 6 4 is based on how they define the word "repentance" in verse 6. In the OT the Israelites were told to repent which meant turn back to the God of Abraham, and stop worshipping idols, and whatever other sin they were doing so when John the Baptist, and Jesus used the word repent to the people in Judea aka Jews they knew exactly what it meant. I think most of the time the word repent is used to Judeans, and not Greco Romans so it is a very old covenant term, and concept. the problem is if someone defines repentance in verse 6 to mean "believe in Jesus Christ" then they think someone believed, and then unbelieved, and lost their salvation but if the word repentance in verse 6 is defined in context of the old covenant meaning turn back to the God of Abraham without reference to Jesus because he didn't exist in the old covenant law of Moses system then it makes more sense. It is saying some OT people hang around Jesus saw all the miracles, thought it was cool but then ultimately decided to reject his claims of being OT messiah therefore it is impossible for them to be reconciled with the God of Abraham as Jesus is the only way since the new covenant. Hebrews is written to people who had been following the old covenant. The powers of the coming age meant the power of the new covenant which was still progressing, and developing when the NT is being written even though Jesus had died, rose from the dead, went to heaven, and the day of Pentecost happened already by the time Hebrews is written however based on other verses the new covenant was not fully birthed until the temple and therefore the visible sign of the old covenant was destroyed in 70 AD. So the people in hebrews 6 never believed in Jesus to begin with like Judas.

This is the best interview with Dr. Heiser I have heard. The interviewer does an excellent job of letting the conversation flow and allows Heiser to get the essence of his book out. Sure wish Dr. Heiser was still with us to share his knowledge and wisdom.

Interesting in hindsight to hear him discuss his first experience with preaching. He said he really liked it. Most preachers I know did not have the same experience.

As someone who doesn't really like the sound of my voice, I can somewhat relate to this, but knowing what we know now I think this probably had to do with him wanting to avoid conviction, as he knew that what he was saying wasn't aligning with how he was living. Praying for him.

Here he's old enough to be honest that he doesn't "think" of himself as the reality is, proven in videos et. But he's so honest, he doesn't realize he's admitting he believes he is awesome, though video proves his actual quality. Which explains why this geezer thought he was amazing enough have a side piece. He didn't realize what everybody else did, that he was a whiny voiced geezer that alot of people trusted. Womp womp. Cue the Always Sunny theme.

Dinosaurs are a hoax fabricated to "prove evolution," and in turn "disprove Christianity." Just like the humaniod monkey, they are an artist's interpretation off of very shallow evidence. The only thing close to a dinosoar is Leviathan, a sea monster which may look like a plesiosaur. Dragon bones might have been what they found, as they essentially look like a dinosaur with wings.

Justin Martyr, Theophilus of Antioch, Irenaeus, Clement of Alexandria, Origen, Cyprian, Victorinus, Lactantius, Basil the Great, Ambrose of Milan, Augustine and many more all denied a literal six-day creation in Genesis, long before anything in science would contradict this. Darwin actually said that it was possible to believe in both Genesis and evolution but simply wasn't a Christian himself.
@randomusername276128 күн бұрын
What a deeply misguided response! I, as a Christian who believes in the real age of the earth of 4.6 billion years old and the true fact that we share a common ancestor with apes, don't for a minute deny that scripture is the word of God and can't be broken. That doesn't mean everything is literal and no metaphors can be used. I also don't deny the historicity of Adam and Eve (nor do most Christians who believe in evolution), even though primates died before them. As for Matthew 19:4 and Mark 10:6, the Greek word 'κτίσεως' is used also frequently used to mean 'humanity' as well as 'creation', and this translation would be far more appropriate given the surrounding context. Jesus never says that Abel was the first person to be murdered in the history of the world, but rather he uses the example of Abel's murder in his analogy. Also, primates coming before Adam and Eve were not people, so this view is entirely consistent with evolution regardless. Jesus' references to things in the book of Genesis does not require that they are fully historical, but nevertheless I agree with the historicity of Sodom and Gomorrah and Noah's Flood as regional. Then, he just rattled on about stuff none of us are denying. Even Christians who do deny the historicity of Adam would say that original sin was a collective decision to sin against God, not that 'we are all basically good people', and so are not 'denying the Gospel', but I, as I say, do not deny this. Evolution does not even in the slightest preclude Adam from being the first man because his predecessors were not men. Romans 5:12 says that 'death spread to all men', not all creatures, so believing in death before the fall is totally fine from a theological standpoint.

"Even on the cross, the principle of justification by faith was demonstrated when the thief said to Jesus, 'Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.' Jesus responded by assuring him, 'Truly, I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.' This interaction clearly illustrates that the thief’s salvation was not based on any good works; instead, it was rooted in his belief that Jesus was the King of the Jews and the Messiah."
