Genuine question. Why not make your own fluoride? Seems insane to me to buy that much fluoride when you could make your own for pennies. 🤷♂️

Nice, love the simplicity. Any reason why you use brine over mysis?
@luuuuuushhh4 күн бұрын
@@mason3981 i use both, i like brine more because the water is more dirty, i feel like the corals react better when i feed that. i only use hikari branded mysis and brine

If you think something (worm, bacteria, pod, etc) got into the lower “foot” of the torches should we be cutting off the lower part or “trunk” of the coral that’s not covered by polyp flesh as a treatment/precaution/prevention? Smell test always makes sense to me, everything that’s died in my tank never smelled like clean saltwater but sulfurish/rot/death! Reminds me of the worms that killed my scolies…😮

I just watched almost identically colored and equally as beautiful torches sell for $100. Anyone paying $10000 for any coral is a fool.
@junwu17935 күн бұрын
$100 is a just a one head frag, he's probably counting all the heads among these torch colonies, 100 heads? He doesn't mean he paid 10000 for them, he just means they are worth that much.

He said it has 12 heads on it, even at $1k per head on an OG original lineage ASD HG... pretty good deal if you can get your hands on one.

Don't push the use of antibiotics. Nothing against you as 90% of people are pushing it. Its bad for the hobby, humans, and our environment. More people are finding antibiotic resistant bacteria spreading. I am working on an alternative and so far from aquabiomics tests it appears it works. I have a few things to check on and will be making a post about it on R2R. Basically a dip in reef primer and HEAVY full tank dosing of either PNS bacteria from hydrospace or Microbelift special blend, they are the same strains.

Hey brother greetings from Arizona. Love the channel. Do you use those exact tiles on other corals in your tank? Do you think it was the tiles themselves? Were you able to look at the bottom foot where the bone met the tile and notice rot? I'm fascinated by this and very curious

I live in Australia and found that Live Rock 100% is the way to go from the get-go. I wanted to add one thing, which is when you refer to live rock, are you referring to established tank live rock? Live rock can be sourced fresh from the ocean, which starts a die-off, ultimately spiking levels. On the other hand, when the Live Rock has been established by sitting in a tank that is healthy, you may only get some die-off, if anything. I thought I would share that because in Australia, starting with live rock is very common and It is available everywhere, but you never know where the pieces are actually from. Could you tell me how you actually get or can get Fresh Live Rock from the Ocean in the USA, and is it expensive / available most places?

100% good advice. I dosed every damn brand bottled bacteria there is. I narrowed them down to about 2 specifically that I use for certain purposes but the #1 thing I learned is that there is natural bacteria in our systems and the ocean that no one can bottle up and sell (yet) and if you dose too much bottled bacteria it will be counter productive to maturing your tank. I might make a video on it soon.
