Of course. I live about 40 miles west of Panama City and we were very concerned about its path and monitored it closely. We got lucky in Walton County and dodged a major bullet.

Hear some interesting facts about Hurricane Michael there was a peak wind gust of 218 miles per hour the strongest wind Mass was 24 miles in diameter over 20 inches of rain and can you believe the storm surge was 25 to 28 ft

im watching this video after reading, literally, hundreds of comments from gringos making fun of our situation in Acapulco after being hit by Hurricane Otis.. Comments like "poor building codes", crappy house" "third world building laws" etc. And what I see is that they are not an example for anyone. I see houses made of cheap materials of poor quality, houses completely destroyed even though Hurricane Michael had no gusts or even close to Otis, of which gusts of 205 mph were recorded. As we say in the Hispanic world "ignorance is daring"

My husband and I looked at this house, did the tour back around 2012, it was around 1.8 million then. There was a bidding war going on, so we lost out. It just sold for 8.7 million in April. Amazing house and property.

Scary and so heart wrenching. We are looking at buying a place nearer Destin and to think of all that loss and hurt it makes you think. I saw all that Coors on the floor and thought since insurance is paying for that, they need to just hand it out to all the community.

I was 9 when this all happened. I’ll never forget sitting in the hall with my cousins, holding my teddy bear, and crying because I was one of the oldest and knew the seriousness of the situation. Thankfully, the house I was staying in wasn’t too badly damaged, but we stayed in several places that year. To this day, there are people who are still struggling, and Panama City won’t ever be the same. I miss the trees, everything, these pics are heartshattering. It’ll be 4 years this year, and no one will ever see this comment, so I’m just spilling all my feelings here. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

I don't know why there are large trees next to homes in an area vulnerable to hurricanes, it's risky, most of the damage is from a tree falling on your house. I know there is no escape at cat 5 but at least minimize the risk get rid of trees in your yard.

...you realize it's costly AF to remove any tree? Most in the area are pay check to pay check. Things aren't that simple.
