I seen him in Detroit. He was good and the scream is right there where it should be. He states that out on his own he can finally hear himself. For 77 years old he rock's. Exceptional concert with very very good musicians in tow.

Thanks for the comment. I’ve read that the band never used to play Mr Roboto. But I have seen them play it several times in recent years and it is a killer song live. Kilroy!

@@ProgCog agree 100% I saw them in july of 1976. It was Tommys 4th show with the band. I was blown away as a 16 year old kid just starting to go to concerts.

It's great to see these guys still out there playing this music of surpassing excellence. I've never seen them live, although I used to live near Laughlin Nevada, and they played there, but those tickets would sell out instantly.

Can anyone tell me who the drummer and bass player are? I recognize everyone else. Thanks.

The drummer is Scott Devours, who plays in Roger’s band and occasionally fills in for Zak Starkey in The Who. Bassist is Jon Button who plays in both Roger’s band and The Who. Excellent musicians and fun to watch Scott and Jon’s antics up close during the show.

I wonder if Roger ever regrets having recorded the song with that scream. After performing it thousands of times over the years, his vocal chords have taken a beating. And having seen it live in recent years, it's clear he can't do it to the same extent he used to.

Understanding how difficult to keep your voice working after 40+ years of singing is like asking an NBA player to get back on the court and score points like they did 40 years ago. Randy Jackson is still the MVP he was decades ago.

There aren't many singers that can match the haunting, timeless character of Sandy Denny's vocal on the original version, but Alison Krauss does. Superb.
