Thats a great frog. I actually like the smaller version a little bit better. Those were some wild fish. They were slamming it. Its very crucial, when frog fishing to have that pause between the fish hitting the bait and the hookset. Try counting to three. Then step into the hookset. It gives the fish a chance to get the whole bait in the mouth. Sometimes they only have the bait crunched between the lips. The pause allows them to suck it in all the way and to turn away from you. That will drastically improve the hook up.
@persistentAngler2 ай бұрын

What the weight of the Gika rig
@persistentAngler2 ай бұрын
the rig itself is light, since i put 3 grams of weight, it probably only 3.5 grams total. but if you count the softlure on it as well, it could be around 7 grams
@DpuckFishingandOutdoors2 ай бұрын
Interesting rig. Its almost like a Gene Larew Hard Knocker or other swinging jig heads, except the weight isn't tied to the line. I think I am going to have to try this out. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Those rockies sure did love it. I am liking the channel a lot. New subb, from NJ. Tight lines!
@persistentAngler2 ай бұрын
Thank you, the rig is so worth to try, if you love Ned rig you gonna love this one too

This is such an awesome bait. Great for smallmouth and great for spawning bass on beds. Rock bass love ned rigs. They are fun. How did a largemouth bass cut you? Thats wild.
@persistentAngler2 ай бұрын
I agree with that, it can attract not just small bass, but the bigger one too
@DpuckFishingandOutdoors2 ай бұрын
I had this lure years ago. I did catch a big bass on it, and you showed it gets hit. I would have lost my mind if I missed that many fish. There is a bait called the Teckle Sprinker Frog that I had that was always getting bit and never landed any fish, so I got this bait hoping it had a better hook up ratio. My issue is the prop legs snagged up every bit of vegetation.
@persistentAngler2 ай бұрын
My biggest problem with this lure also from the prop that easily got tangled with the hook, and somebody suggesting me to change my line for pure braid, might retry it one day
@Fishn_shi2 ай бұрын
Which one should I buy?
