Hard baits? Cannot wait for that video!!!
@glasswaterangling22 күн бұрын
One of the best and easiest methods is to go vertical baby! Drop your bug over the side of the boat and jig and jiggle. Go straight to the bottom and bounce. Then for crappie and other fish that like to suspend count your turns. Let's say you are ice fishing and you drop your bait or bug to the bottom and work it some to no avail. Take half a dozen turns of line onto the reel and and do the slow lift, the dead hand or the wiggle and jiggle. No luck? Keep taking turns until you hit one. Fish ain't always on the bottom or top, they can be in between!

I big hell yes on the tips in this video. This method is used from brook trout and bluegill to tuna and marlin like in the Old Man and the Sea. Thanks for more know on how to get with it!!!

Just purchased today! Any tips for respooling the line? New to fishing. I can’t wait to try with this. If you could make a video doing that would be great.
@DaggerfishGear5 ай бұрын
Awesome, thanks! We have an old (bad) video on this that will be replaced sometime this year, but for now this will give you the basic guidance you need to respool: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKvEaHSAnt6Dqq8&t

@@DaggerfishGear do you think a 6lb or 4lb test would be good since it seems like this is mostly for smaller fish? Especially for fly fishing?
@DaggerfishGear5 ай бұрын
@@rollingtrolling2991 Yes 6lb or 4lb will work well, though we chose 8lb as standard becasue we felt it was the most versatile option. My recommendation would be to start by tying a lighter weight line on as a leader, which will keep you from needing to respool the whole reel. Regardless, you'll need a bit of weight on the line to cast it (see our fly fising video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2HZqnx4lK6HrKc). Hope this helps!

Thanks! We don't make a Cuban yoyo (yet) but the Toss and the Whip casts demonstrated here should work with a yoyo style reel.

Just got mine and its beautiful!! Pulled my little knot and it just untied but not tied to anything, couldn't find the end of the line. Lost about 10yrds of line but oh well, its just fishing line.

What about line twist from winding
@DaggerfishGear8 ай бұрын
It's less of a problem than is is on mechanical reels. Line is fed straight onto the reel from the line hand, and with no mechanical gearing line twisting is significantly reduced. If line does get twisted, it can usually be straightened out by gently running it through pinched fingers
@jonfisher92148 ай бұрын
If people are worried the line might hurt their hand then I'd suggest they get out into the real world more and just learn to handle stuff.
@jaredlogerfo50815 ай бұрын
Never hurt my hands with my daggerfish. The problem I face is sound of my hand rubbing against wet line. Squeaks louder than my ex boyfriend. I know it’s causing problems because I’ve watched the small fish flee when it happens, vs when it doesn’t. Light Gloves prevent this (and help keep a hold of fish when I work the hook out) but if you ware something that has pads on the outside, it will snag on your gloves from time to time. The only other problem I have with a the hand reel is that it gets tangled easily and badly. Might just be me being inexperienced; but I spend more time having to redo my tackle than fishing some days. I have stopped trying to untangle, even if I know I could untangle it.

Yes, in most areas, but regulations on hand line fishing vary state to state and region to region. We recommend all of our customers fish with a license at all times.

Thansk! Check 3 Rivers Outdoor Co in Regent Sq. If they don't have any you can get them at daggerfishgear.com and they should arrive within a couple days.

could you use these off the beach in the uk
@LosPeregrinos519 ай бұрын
Better to try off of coastal rocks, piers and jetties. I've never been able to cast far enough off of a beach - mind you my local beach is fairly flat anyway so I tend to fish with a Cuban Yo-yo reel off of a kayak.

What are you wearing across the chest is that also sold on line?
@DaggerfishGear Жыл бұрын
Hi Rebecca - I'm using a standard size mens belt as a chest strap. All of our leather accessories will fit on belts up to 1.5" wide. At some point in the future we may release a cusotm crossbody strap for our accessories, but in the meantime any belt should work. Thanks!

I use an old spincast reel in my hand to fish without a rod the cast techniques are the same you just have to push the button to release the line before casting is easier and the retrieval is faster and I have a drag system you should try it out is very fun

What size Adjust A Bubble is in the kit so I can get extras?
@DaggerfishGear Жыл бұрын
The 3/16 oz size are the ones included in our Streamer Kits. Also, for reference, the storage area in the handle is 7/8" diameter by ~2.75" long, so anything smaller than that should fit as well
