Off to the town of Little Current on Manitoulin Island. My grandfather was born in Little Current in 1888. Obviously I am a little older than you, so I hope you don't mind doing the loop with you virtually!

Rice lake is definitely not for the weak hearted boater . 10 minutes of good wind and suddenly you got 4 ft seas and it ain't safe anywhere. I grew up there and was the one thing that was driven into my mind . Glad you made it through. Seems this year the weeds are much more prevalent, later in the season they should be down some . Have fun ,play safe !

I really like the way you include so much more than just showing the boat moving through the water. Your cooking segment is interesting and shows more of what boat life on the Loop can be. Good job fishing.

Not sure where abouts you are now, but route planning will be your friend along with the sailor's tried and true 1st mate which is an anchor. Holding your boat at extended times with engine and thrusters solo with out a GPS positioner is a bit much. You will incur more spots like this even as you cross back over to US waters. Get used to the anchor being your friend. Practice emergancy anchor drops. Practice river anchoring and let the current keep you aligned. Can use rudder to assist on inboards, if its an I/O rhen that rudder technique doesn't work. Some comments here are more criticism than helpful. One of the things you may want to consider during the evenings, is watching Captain Chris's videos. A wealth of info there. Research and youtube your next destination of hazardous and go over your charts well. Stay safe out there.

One of your best videos yet! You have so much control and now seem so at ease no matter what happens. Great job. And that yummy dinner you prepared with the fish, veges, mangoes, and blueberries was to die for. Such an attractive presentation and so healthy! We are so very much enjoying your trip videos. Also love that you are showing all the ups and the downs and not just putting out the ups thus making this trip appear easy when it certainly has its challenges. Thanks for sharing this adventure with all of us. Best wishes for a continued wonderful trip!!

Actually you have better control moving the stern into current and wind as the boat steers from the rear, kind of like a Hi Lo. Bow is hard to move into current or wind with engines only. That was a great job at the mountain lodge. plan ahead, and for worse case and then surprise yourself! I wasn't surprised. And you probably know, go slow, worse case you drift into a boat and get fended off. 1991 and 1992 we were up in that area on trailer boats. Launched from Tobermory on the Bruce peninsula. Those rocks are unnerving in the super clear water. My late buddy Greg who got me up there two years called them B.F. R.s lol Big F*^%*ng Rocks. Engaged to my wife on Flowerpot Island in 1992. Not been up since. bit of a ride from Lake Erie now! Flew in a 1957 DeHaviland beaver on floats over that whole area with my Fiancé then and a couple other friends. docked at the Okeechobee Lodge. Was closed up shortly after. Alive and well again, just looked it up! Safe Travels and can't wait to run up there from Lake Erie in the next couple years

In 1982 a college friend and I drove to Alaska from Jensen Beach, grandparents lived there and said he'd get us jobs. Driving in to Anchorage there's a park with a lake and people were swimming in it. (June) We were wearing hoodies and sweets thinking these people are crazy. The next year friends had my birthday party there and I was one of those crazy people swimming in that lake. Of course, I'd been up there for a year, so the change wasn't quite as sudden for me. That's all they know

Wow, the scenery is magical. What a wonderful cruising ground. Did you try the Killarney Resort restaurant? I would think you would relish a change from your won cooking once in a while. Agree totally with your reluctance to swim in water frigid Canadian lake water. As a FL/RI snowbird I refuse to swim in water under 70 degrees. I noticed you threw back the huge northern pike -- I know it is a very bony fish but a fishing guide de-boned and cooked northern pike for a group of us when I was a kid and it was delicious. Thanks for sharing, very enjoyable to share your journey.
