Barely any recoil or gas released from the muzzlebreak. I've seen a .300 PRC fired with a much larger break using a hunting round. The recoil and gas release was substantially greater. What round are you using? What is the powder charge & bullet weight?

[I'm a hiker, not a hunter] Interesting. I have a pair of Lowa Caminos and got a similar tender sole to what you describe when doing consecutive long days. That was with Superfeet insoles. I felt really conflicted because I walked 700km in them in a month and didn't get a single blister, which was great, but they also lost their waterproofness really quickly and the rand peeled from the leather. They did not last as long as I would have expected. I've just worn the soles down on a pair of Nevadas (and caused some leather cracking through neglect) and was considering trying the Rangers, but frankly, the Nevadas have been amazing. Never had waterproofness issues with Crispis either.
