Always take your new OEM brand irons to a competent club builder, as experiences show some of these specs are so far out. Hence why golfers suddenly no longer hit their new 7 iron better than old one.

Yep I'm in line with this philosophy and I carry five wedges. At the other end, I have a D followed by a 5W. No 3W in my bag; can't hit it off the deck, and I'm comfortable w my D off the tee.

I went to Club Champion Crawley last week and had an Iron / Wood & Putter fit with AJ. It was class, AJ fitted me into a head / shaft combination that worked for me pretty much instantly. The products that they have to test for a Lefty is spot on. Looking forward to picking up my new clubs.

Always had an issue with doing just 3 swings with each shaft, the main concern is that on that day you may be feeling a certain way and that's how you'll be fit - also the order you hit them may mean that you could be cold or tired depending on being the first or last to test. I would like to know how often people come back for a second fitting and their previous choices come up as winners?

i did a fitting with taylormade last year with their new hybrids vs. my cobra baffler steel shafted 20deg hybrid… from 2010ish somehow my numbers where better than the new one with graphite…???! Now nobody sells them in steel?

Completely agree. I started with clubs at D3/D4 Project X, then got lost for years in lighter clubs and graphite shafts because of joint issues. Now I'm playing my best golf with steel shafts at D8/D9 and jumbo grips for the joint issues. Don't get lost.

Hi Jason, would you be able to upload some clips (or even a full video) of a typical fitting? I am looking to get booked in, and I really appreciate the knowledge you have, but I would like to see an example of what a typical fitting entails.

How would you go about fitting some with an inconsistent swing. I don’t think it would be helpful for me cause my driver is so inconsistent. Thx

how does total weight affect the performance of a golfclub? And whats the difference in performance of a 280 gram abd a 320 gram club with the same swingweight?
@adambarnes4191Ай бұрын
The more static weight a club has, the further it will hit the ball with the added mass, IF you can swing it the same speed.
@franzose1967Ай бұрын
@@adambarnes4191 thank you. I think I have to try out . But now I think I will do better with a lighter one as I'm getting older
@adambarnes4191Ай бұрын
@franzose1967 I'm 45, I still play X100 with a midsize grip and lead tape to play at d4. It's about as heavy as a club can get. I've thought about going lighter. The trade-off is usually accuracy for distance. At some point, I'll look to go from 130 grams to 120. A good club fitter could lighten your club with minimal accuracy loss.

What are your thoughts on the Mizuno shaft fitting optimiser? Is this system geared for the individual swing characteristics of players? Does this system match your skills and experience as a leading fitter?

Great video Jason. What driver shaft would you recommend for someone who swings slightly out to in (3-4 degrees), 3-5 degrees on the up and around 98-100mph? Currently playing a Ventus TR Red 58g and struggling with dispersion. Not an issue with the irons (Steelfiber 110's), one the driver.

I've been identifying the spine (with that exact same tool shown in this video) for almost 20 years. I have oriented the spine toward the target (9:00) and away from the target (3:00) with great success. However, several years ago, I was asked about club droop. I discovered that club droop is a huge problem especially in regular flex and senior flex shafts. The stiffer the shaft is, the less club droop, but usually there is still some. So, as an experiment, I shafted a set of irons and oriented the spine at 6:00. This makes it very difficult for club droop to occur which in turn keeps you right on that sweet spot. It works. So, that is the way I orient all shafts unless someone wants it to be aligned differently. It made a huge difference in my own ball striking. I strongly urge you guys to try it especially when the shafts are noticeably flexible. My .02 cents.

So which club should you use? Going by your advice here any club you feel comfortable with 🤷♂️ not the most informative video I’ve seen.

Just got fit for the VA nemesys at club champion Glasgow. Ball speed jumped up first swing. Just found it so easy to hit it out the middle. Tried various shafts while I was there and it was a tough choice between Ventus blue TR and nemesys but the nemesys was top on the day.

You have highlighted the detail that has been missing from many club fitters (makers). I had to teach my golf colleagues ten years ago and they didn't believe me about shaft weight, flex and length (tip or butt cut). I hope you get rewarded and I wish I was still in UK so you could just get my shafts checked, especially the driver!! Well done...

Does a more spinny golf ball keep the shot straighter? So a tp5 will be straighter than a tp5x due to less spin axis tilt?
