I'm impressed by the audience reaction. I'd always been led to believe this show was nothing special, in a park that was sparsely attended during its inaugural year, but the applause and cheers make it sound like it had somewhat of a following.

So...my kids and I love coasters but I feel a little concerned by how minimalistic these restraints seem. Looks like you get a ton of airtime with just a pool noodle holding you in 😬

Thanks!! I was just a teen back then so there’s a lot of goofing off in the clip. My old self wishes I held the camera better and focused more on the ride than myself. Ha

Awesome I almost went to the event in 2001 but they said Tim Burton and Danny Elfman are not gonna show up But I went to the other events O2, 03 and 04. But I went on this back in 2001 and I remembered very well.

Yeah I was really bummed when they announced that Elfman and Burton weren’t gonna be there. However I was lucky enough to work the Spy Kids premiere at Hyperion Theater (my old attraction I used to work) and got to see Danny Elfman there.

Wow I hadn’t realized they changed the queue to Space. However I moved away from SoCal in 2007. In Florida now and have passes to the parks over here.

Thanks again! Born and Raised in SoCal and was once a cast member but have since moved to Florida so I’m going to the theme parks here now. Will have to see what else I have.

it was prob another coaster or it was the arrow dynamics version, because Morgan upgraded the ride and it removed the inversions and added airtime hills to make it a hyper coaster.

On this day the other drummer wasn’t there. I was bummed because that was one of the main reasons I shot this. I was an usher at the Hyperion Theater and shot this thing in costume.
