A heavy mist lay around me, obscuring my vision, it seems like I only have my four other senses to ensure my survival. Thorns latched onto me as I walked forward, the fog assisting it, branches whipping me shoulders as I walked past them, it was obvious: they were warning me. Unfortunately for them, I wasn't someone who was easily rattled. Of course, me being the strong headed person I was raised to be, I went on, a few thorns weren't enough to stop me, but as I carried on forward, my nose started picking up on a familiar scent, blood. Crouching down, my knees hovered above the ground, and squinted, trying to catch the oh so familiar red I become accustomed to. Bullseye. My pinkie brushed across the liquid red; that meant whoever lost the blood had only recently lost it. Eyeing the remains of the blood on my finger, I brought it up to my mouth, pink darting out to taste it, to see if my theory was right. The taste of the blood was unique, it was sour and had the likeness of a bitter orange. As a reflex, my face curled up in disgust; I hollowed my cheeks in an attempt to get rid of the disgusting flavour that lay upon my tongue. But my suspicions were correct, it was indeed human blood, mixed in with something else. At least it wasn't poisonous.
