How hard would it be to swap this into a 2000 k2500 that has the 7.4 liter in it?
@bogbrookauto
@bogbrookauto 6 күн бұрын
It would be "do-able" as they are both 24 tooth crank sensor engines. There would be a lot changing sensor pigtails and extensions. The real trick would be to find a 2001 3500HD with the 8.1L engine (First year for that combo), then you would have the harness & ECM made for the older body style truck!

The backstory here is that is a friend of mine who bought that Yellow Camaro. He used to drive monster trucks and he said that no car scared him. We all told him, trust me if you floor this you will lift because the thing goes up the road like a dog because it’s spinning the rear tires, well, he lifted twice before he got to the convenience store! And yes, we’re still friends to this day and he still owns that 2010 SS Camaro!

Do your company do any tuning
@bogbrookauto
@bogbrookauto 4 ай бұрын
We do not. The tuning is best done in the vehicle. If you tune it in a run stand it doesn't take into account the stall speed of the torque converter and cam specs.

Hello I own a Chevrolet express 6.0 LQ4 with 90,000 miles, I live in France in a region where the climate is temperate, I do 6000 miles per year, I drive mainly in the summer, and I tow a 6000 lbs trailer, should I stick to the oil recommended by the manufacturer 5W30 or can I use a 5W40 for example???
@bogbrookauto
@bogbrookauto 9 ай бұрын
With that low mileage... use the factory recommended 5W30. SAE 5W-30 means the oil is a thicker 30 weight when cold and a 5 weight when it's warm. Hence the 5W rating.

@@bluecollarhotrods9781 Yes it will. We used a 2200 stall converter and it's perfect! If you want a cheap 2200 stall converter for a 4L60, get a V6 one. If you need a 2200 for a 4L80... get one out of an Express / Savana Van.

@@bogbrookauto I have an LQ4/4L80E swap in my half ton Silverado. The transmission is from a wrecked 04 2500HD. Believe it or not, that converter flashes to 2400-2500 RPM. (Verified with HP Tuners) That cam you used is similar to one I am installing in my truck along with a set of milled 799s from Advanced Induction. Currently I am running the Texas Speed CHOPacabra cam with untouched 862s... not a fan. It runs good, but just didn't put down the power.
