Very nice pouch but you might want to cover the river inside. The rubbing against the pipe inside would scratch the pipe. I like the fast slow stitching part of the video. Very neat editing trick as well as leather work

How do you calculate, the numbers of holes on the top, vs the sides? Hope you can tip me.

You don't have to calculate it exactly, just mark the holes as on the side and make partial stitches to let the lower side catch up with the upper one. By a partial stitch you advance the needle on the lower side to the next hole but stay on the same hole on the upper side.

What do I search for to find someone in my area who can do this sort of thing? I have the exact same backpack. It was 30 years old when I got it, and I've had it for another 30 years and the straps are starting to crack like that.

Looking at options on those packs currently. Would love to know the base weight of the pack. Planing on doing a light aluminium frame build with this or a salt and pepper rucksack for backpacking.
