Tamiya is top of the line. I remember owning the hornet when I was a kid. I was so young my father had to put it together as a kid . Sweet geez i am going back to the mid 80's. Then there was the Grasshopper. Very good video guys I always enjoy watching you. Very educational and informative. You guys know more about rc cars then most other videos. Excellent work.

Or........you can use a bottle of Tamiya thick cement. Just leave the cap loose for a day or so and the solvent in it will evaporate a little or until you get the thickness you want.
@HearnsHobbiesMelbourne10 сағат бұрын
I don't think evaporated cement can ever get as thick as making sprue goo.

I'm pretty sure that those undercarriage panels you mentioned with ejector pin marks are a two piece system, so those marks get covered. So no putty or sanding required really.

Thank you for this video Very much appreciated. 🌟 I have bought all 8 of the sets. They are pretty awesome. I also downloaded and printed a pretty neat 3D print file of what is called "Tamiya Weathering Station" from Printables. And it is free too! It has 8 stepped slots at the back for all the sets and also 4 Square holes at the front for your Panel liners, etc or whatever you want to put in. And 6 holes on the side for brushes, etc. It took like 6 hours to print, mind you! LOL. On my Creality K1C. But it is worth it. If you have a 3D Printer, have a look see. I can highly recommend it. 👍

I find it fun to hunt for natural diorama items like pebbles and twigs. Natural stuff usually will always look better. To make trees, I coated twigs with pva glue, and stuck on the green bush foliage you can buy.

I made a bottle of thin mix for thickening joints. Among other uses, but mostly for joints.
@HearnsHobbiesMelbourne9 күн бұрын
That is a great tip! You mean joints in Gundam and the like right?
@howardmoon26879 күн бұрын
@HearnsHobbiesMelbourne Correct. Since it bonds to the plastic, it's very durable. And it is easy to control. Just apply thin coats until you have the desired thickness on the joint in question. If you go too far, a light sanding sorts that out. It just takes longer than the usual methods because you have to wait until the plastic is completely cured to avoid accidentally gluing a joint. But the end results are worth the wait, in my opinion.

Having two sets of counter rotating rotors allows it to be stabilized unlike say a Huey has a smaller vertical rotor in the rear to prevent the helicopter itself from spinning.

@TheIcemanModdeler17 күн бұрын
@@HearnsHobbiesMelbourne Thanks for responding, been using mostly putty for tiles and it's been working pretty good, it's water based so it's easy to thin with water and smooth, after fully curing add water and go over it several times with a cloth so the excess gets removed and only the scratches/holes get filled.
