I found your Channel in regards to the China diesel engine you put on a log splitter. I got the same China motor and I am looking to put it on a huskee 20t splitter from tractor supply. I also have a 21 Honda rally. I run the Dunlop d606 rear and mt21 pirelli front, great mostly off road riding tire combo for the California desert and mountains where I live 😊

You should have called this video "Buy new tires instead of lowering pressure" cause the stock IRC tires need to be lowered to 17psi for offroad in NJ Pine Barrens and most of the east coast (not just Florida) cause like you mentioned sand. Now granted my skills have waned a bit but 22psi on my 2023 Rally is for highway use only, less I want to show off how bad I've gotten. I was gonna ask about the mt21/d606 combo but it sounds like your terrain couldn't be more different than mine. I might as well live in Florida terrain wise it's identical.

I own a small Chinese diesel generator. I put it in a small shed made of concrete blocks for silencing. Starting the thing is not a problem at all even after a very long time . I put some lube oil on the cylinder and start it using the decompression device. It never let me down, but it smokes in the very beginning, later it's running smoke-free and smooth. Hurray for small chinese diesels and generators. Some people believe chinese products are crap... They are not!! You pay what you get

Im really surprised by the quality of the parts. Considering this engine only costs 200 bucks... This is pretty good, I have to say. Ive got one of these engines myself, using it in a low rpm generator setup, considering that I only run it at lower RPMs (below 2000), I think it will last just as long as any other engine would!

I just got one of these about 2 weeks ago from Amazon. I went thru the first time start up and it went well. It started 3 times in a 2 hour time frame. A week later I tried to start it and it would not start. In fact diesel fuel started to spit out thru the air filter. What would cause this? I messaged the seller and he suggested I clear out the air filter and fuel line with carb cleaner to dry it out and start it again. Same thing happened, fuel spitting out thru the air intake. Second message from the seller was to take it for repair. They would pay up to $30. Any ideas? It's still under the 30 day return policy

I agree that the starting fluid was the final straw but the discoloration suggests a casting flaw . If it was a one time start on starting fluid I don't believe you'd get discoloration , that's usually from previous run time . If it was fresh carbon the starting fluid would wash it out and be shiny . Ive cast Aluminum before and it can be hard to find flaws until machining and when you have a machine pumping them out by the thousands they only inspect maybe one in a hundred .

How do you check the air filter? You just glossed right over that point. There is no wing nut holding it down as is usually done. There are arrows pointing both clockwise and counterclockwise on the air filter lid, but it will not turn. How do you get the top off that plastic air filter housing? Isn't it important to have a look at the air filter element?

Fantastic ride! I have done several Iron Butt rides (SS1Ks, at least 4 BBGs, and two SS2K golds) and enjoy giving tips to newer long distance riders to help them streamline their rides and make them a bit easier. However I see nothing I can offer you, you did great with the bike and conditions you had to work with. Other than adding lights for night time riding, which you talked about, there isn't really anything I would do differently. There is no getting around a small bike taking a bit longer than larger bikes- you have lower speeds, no wind protection, and limited electrical power for luxuries like heated clothing. Well done.

Buy a new gasoline engine and change the oil a LOT & you will probably get between 1,500 & 2,000 running hours out of it before it dies. The most important thing with a new small engine is to change the oil after an hour of break in. Watch all the metal that comes out. You can't change the oil too often on an engine with no oil filter. If the metal was no big deal they wouldn't put oil filters on cars & trucks.

I put a 10 horsepower Chinese diesel with centrifugal clutch on my old Honda 125 drove it for 20,000 plus miles going back and forth to work in the spring and summer for 3 years. Price of fuel now I might have to dig it out of the shed and get it back on the road.

Roll up a rag, remove the air cleaner and spray a little ether on the end of the rag then hold it next to the intake. No liquid can get into the motor. I have done this for years. It also lets you run it for a while with the vapor assisting it. You can control it by pulling the rag away. Also, an electric heat gun works much better than a propane torch in the intake as it doesn't burn up the oxygen.

Like you said in the end - lower pressure makes sense in sand and in deep mud. Your terrain looks rather dry and rocky, this is why 22psi is good for you, while I prefer 15 to avoid being stuck in some muddy pit. Cheers from Europe. Very informative and interesting test!

Thanks, That was a fun little rip. This bike will very seldom see that type of riding I am usually a very laid back dual sport rider. It is nice to know the bike is set up properly now if I have the need or want to ride it fairly aggressive. Even with my tank bag, front saddle bags and rear rack less luggage loaded with tools, tube, compressor, riding gear insulation and other day ride needs the bike handles very well. I am 6ft weigh in at 240 ish geared. Before doing the suspension the sag was waaaaaaay off and extremely soft. It pushed so bad in the front I would have struggled going 1/2 that pace and would have most likely lost my mirrors. LOL

i run a 390 beta RR at 0.5 bars front and 0.3 rear. You just need two rim locks on each wheel, an ordinary tube and spray silicone on tube. Period. 5 years without ANY pinch... Of course some dents on rims, but i don't care. Survived mid center Albania tracks where you just dream to have even only 50 m to ride without a stone :) update... A Pro told me once to more inflate front, whatever the terrain, because the plush of lo pressure tire would interfere with suspension work... So sometimes I increase to 0.7 to 0.8 front and yes on rather small rocky tracks forks work better

Good info. Did you have it loaded with your typical gear? Were the bags close to the actual weight they’d be if you were on a multi day ride?
@mossycreekvids
@mossycreekvids 5 ай бұрын
I had it loaded with my typical day ride gear for this time of year. Quart extra water, top and bottom riding gear insulation, cold weather gloves, tools, extra tube, compressor, lite hiking tarp to cover bike and or self if I get in a bind. Sawyer squeeze kit. Heat controller for electric gloves and first aid kit. That stays pretty much all the time on bike till it gets consistently warmer. This time of year I need my duffle on back for multi day camping. But I don't pack really lite. I plan on doing a video on my packout for day riding and camping in the not too distant future. I could multi day camp without duffle on back in summer as long as I have known water sources along the way so I don't have to pack water for cooking or can eat out along ride.
