Didn't watch video yet, but the only two I'd use is the sevr and beast. If sevr would make an option where the blades didn't pivot they would be my go-to mechanical head all the time especially with all the options sevr has with cut size and a hybrid (killed a nice reindeer/ Caribou with one this past year)

Good job! You need new targets. Frankly, I was impressed with all these broadheads. For the most part they all flew and penetrated well. Since you were shooting at fifty yards you have to take into account some degree of human error. As a bowhunter I've shot just about everything you can imagine. But with fixed blade heads I've always had great results with Slick Trick. but the revivals might be a little pricey. I really like the way those Magnus Black Hornets look and am going to try them in the near future.

Just got the medium bucket deluxe harness. I have Leupold Switchpower 10+17x42s, which are 6 inches long and about 4.5 inches wide. They dont fall out of the medium bucket, and I wouldn't say that the fit is sloppy. However I am wondering if i wouldnt benefit from the small bucket size just to save on bulk/size/weight of the harness. I think the easy in and out of the medium is nice, but im wondering if the snugger fit of the small would be that awful. I have about an inch of extra width with the medium bucket.

I've used many different broadheads designs over the years and have finally settled on using the Magnus Black Hornets serrazors. I may play around with a few of the single bevels this upcoming season, but those Black Hornets will be hard to beat, IMO. As for the expandables that I've used, my short list has been: the original slip cam Rage 2 blade and 3 blade, Grim reaper original, Grim reaper Whitetail special, a Rocket Broadhead that I can't remember the exact name of, and the older design NAP Killzone with the COC tip. The Rocket heads were my first go with expandables. I took a few deer with those over the 2 years I used them. They did okay at best. Small entry holes, good damage inside, and good blood trails when they exited. They were a one and done head due to the damage they took on. At least I never had a blade break, but man, were they mangled! I took 2 deer with the original slip cam Rage 2 blade, I had 4 broken blades. Both deer died pretty quick, a testament for shot placement over broadhead design, but penetration definitely suffered. The 3 blade design Rage failed to fully deploy on 2 of the 4 deer that I took with them. On both occasions, one blade fully deployed while the other two "wedged" against each other. This was evident in the entry/exit wound as well as witness marks on the cutting edge and back back edge of the other two blades. The two Grim Reapers performed wonderfully over several animals. The Whitetail specials took more damage than the original, but overall, they performed wonderfully. My only hesitation for using the Reapers is that I was hunting on a snowy/sleeting afternoon when the temps were falling. The snow/ice was melting on the dark carbon shaft, running down the arrow and freezing inside the broadhead. When shot, the broadhead failed to deploy. It still brought down the deer in relative short order, another testament for shot placement, but it did 100% fail to open. I discovered the ice in the broadhead after the shot. The Killzones was my goto for several years and have accounted for probably the largest number of deer of any single head that I have used. They always gave me good blood trails and resulted in an easy, fast recovery of all, but 1 of the deer I used them on. The one deer was a result of the broadhead prematurely deploying. Not entirely due to a failure on the broadhead, but a simple flaw in the design of rear deploying mechanicals as a general. During my draw, my arrow hung up on a cedar branch that caused the blades to partially deploy. When the arrow was released, the head deployed, causing a very, very poor shot. That's was the moment I swore off mechanicals and went back to fixed. I'm not one to judge one for using mechanicals, I just deamed them as "not right for me." In the end, there are 2 things that matter most; shot placement and penetration. If your bow is tuned properly and you have proper form, a fixed will hit with your field points, and there is no denying that a fixed will out penetrate a mechanical.

When you say "big box stores" I'm assuming you mean Cabela's and Bass Pro? Trying to buy my first compound bow and they have great sales right now at Cabela's but I've heard this comment numerous times and everyone leans towards an archery shop. I understand why, just wondering if i can purchase a bow from a big box store, then take it to an archery shop if i feel i need to get it fine tuned? Cabela's has a lot of Bear RTH products on a great price right now, just don't want to shoot myself in the foot with my first compound purchase
