Do you know if a hair dryer would get hot enough to heat and activate the cement?

For dust extraction try using the rectangle box venting with round connector on end. Used on tumble dryer. Place one end under where the gap in the end of the woodrat. Fits the profile of Ali. Straight under the router. Works perfectly! All chippings fly to it no mess! Check woodrat workshop, it dhows it!

Super helpful video and I wish I had found it before attempting to fit these hinges myself. The tolerances for this hinges is very small and so therefore is the margin for error when fitting them and routing out the holes. If its nigh on perfect the doors won't close flush and have a tendency to open by themselves.

I could use hel with my jig setup as I cannot seem to keep blade from deflecting even when tension, power, blade saw all in working order.
@TokyoCraftsman11 ай бұрын
What blade are you using? I use a three tooth per inch (3tpi) green wood blade, end I do get some deflection too.
@drabusharr11 ай бұрын
@@TokyoCraftsman started with 3/8 3tpi from highland, then 3/8 Carter green wood and finally 1/2 timberwolf.the deflection is so bad that the jig slot is now 1/2 wide due to blade.

commenting because of the algorithm. Most of your comments are from 3-4 months ago. I too was looking up how to remove laminate for countertops because I am debating what I want to do and how hard it would be to do it. Anyway, I was looking up how to do it like a month to a month and half ago. I didn't find your video then. But ta-daa your video showed up on my home feed today. Thank you to Tokoyo for a well-done video. Howdy! from Wyoming.

You need to seal coat that wood before you stain it. a shellac based sealer is best. Then dye it, then seal it again, then more dye or gel stain to avoid it looking like it does in this video. Then whatever topcoat you want. If you want professional results, you can't stain softwood without sealing it, unless you are staying with light natural tones. Dyes are less likely to create grain reversal such as you see here, but they still can if they are darker than the heartwood. learning how to stain softwood is the most difficult thing to do correctly in all of woodworking, in my opinion. Good luck

Terrific video. Thank you. I appreciated the brevity, the absense of unnecessary bloviation, and your clarity. I have an old wood core door with plastic walnut color veneer that is a horrible match for the teak on the rest of my boat. Replacing it with cherry (or teak if available) wood veneer.
