What's a plc programmer?
@myplctraining1238
@myplctraining1238 2 күн бұрын
PLC stands for Programmable Logic Controller. They are used for automating factories and other industrial processes. The programmer programs them :)

I used codesys and Factory IO for a PLC class in uni. It was nice but tbh you kind of omit a lot of the small details of working with real life equipment. But to start I do recommend Factory IO and whatever IDE you like (or the brands demand)

I'm going to trade school to be an electrician, i found out that i don't really like the labour work, but i used to work on plc machines like exhausters and i like it, i found out that i can learn plc, so my question is: can i start learning plc right now or do i need to get my certificate first?

do you have to be an engineer or a technician of a sort to do this? I'm an electrician (3rd year apprentice) and want to move up in the field. I have no knowledge in anything programming, but a solid understanding of how circuits work.

We regularly help electricians upskill into PLC programming roles. So, no you don't have to be an engineer or tech.

i have been looking into this. I also went through the interview process. Next to that I can not confirm what I would be paying for is worth the money. In my example what would be the difference of going to the tech school down the road. Same price. Just looking for QUALITY before i commit.. I dont at the moment see your stuff as selling points. While i would like them to be true and good, i would need some certifacation
@myplctraining1238

Hey there, if you need accredited certification primarily, I'd suggest tech school. If you need actual skills, experience and coaching to get the job you want, our program is probably the better option.

I am a big one for learning and expanding. I have gone through the interview process, would just like to see what I would be buying into. I have seen many of your credential videos. But am not sold. And I have a hard time parting with my money, especialy at 5K. without some sort of example other than videos off the internet. while they may be true. I appreciate you talking to me, I did not know any other way to contact an individual. thank you

ISA and NCCER are also both great programs if a vollege or university isn't for you. There are specific courses for automation technologies. Just keep in mind pay will depend on the field you wanna work in. PLCs cover, industries such as food, raw materials processing, most types of power plants, hospitals, logistical transports, and of course oil, gas. and utilities plants.

Completely agree, in fact where I'm from, being willing to ask questions and learn is seen as intelligent due to seeking knowledge, and someone refusing to learn is what looks unintelligent. It's definitely true that we don't know everything, in fact, we can't know everything. There's so much to learn that at most, my knowledge compared to all there is to learn is like the Epcot center sphere compared to the sun. But that's good because there's always more to learn.

You might want to define what a PLC is, assuming it does not mean, "Pretty lame channel." Acronyms suck and are reused by many diferent trades to mean different things. Process Logic Controller? LOL ... Logic or level?

Hello, I would like your help, I need to do a project. The PLC, an FX3U, will send the MR JE C servo to rotate to one side a certain amount of pulses entered into a register on the Sankoom HMI, when it reaches the count, the servo returns to the value of 0. Could you help me with the pins of the CN3 connector and the configuration parameters in mr2?

Is there a balance between pushing forward and taking a step back when your brain is tired? I know automation can be go,go, go, but I don't think any plant manager or supervisor would want someone trying to program a system when they're half asleep. Let me know what you think based off your experience
