Dont get me wrong, with the hud changes (which are optional) it does appeal more to the casual audience. However, the massive amount of manglers, abominations, amagdelas and other bosses past round 30 and the damage falloff is just as challenging as some of the older games just in difffent ways. The story especially is gonna make no sense to people who havent been following along since bo3 so its definitely not just dropping the core audience. To me this is the strongest zombies has been since bo3 and while it doesnt quite have the map variety BO2 or 3 had (could change) i'd argue they nailed the gameplay balance this time. In terms of evolution I'd also disgree that evolution is always good, since black ops 4 pushed too hard and lost what made it special (the base perks, reusing old maps but worse, convoluded easter egg steps) and black ops 6 is stepping back into a stirking balance of the good with some improvements like: the specialist abilities, customising your favorite perks to fit you, sam trials for more loot and saving your salvage

I mean I never said the game wasn't 'challenging', or that that had anything to do with the game being 'bad'. I also didn't say that 'evolution is always good', in fact in the video I said that OBJECTIVELY the changes in CW/BO6 were a smart decision (1:00), but that I personally didn't like them. I do agree that BO4 went too far tho haha

Kind of crazy how you say bo3 didn't experiment much when they added gobblegums and AATs, which practically made wall weapons kill infinitely.

I meant compared to the innovations from BO2 and WaW. I agree BO3 added some mechanics that changed the game, but not to the same extent as BO2 and WaW I'd argue. BO2 added crafting, experimented with level design and massively improved focus on narrative and immersion. WaW obviously started with Nacht and added all of the foundations for Zombies over its lifetime. But honestly, the whole 'pattern' I talk about with Zombie games is just something I'd noticed and thought was interesting about the Black Ops series, it isn't a criticism really.

I like parts of this review but I disagree with the no ambience and character to the maps. I can understand liberty falls with that argument but terminus feels “alive” if that makes any sense. I think it’s a massive upgrade from cold war and the gameplay is better than bo4.

@@EvanViolin-cn3xd I agree that Terminus has more character than Liberty Falls certainly, but personally I feel the ambience and overall style in Terminus is a long way off being compared to maps from BO3 or BO2, such as Buried. I agree it’s a bit better than CW, but personally I wouldn’t say it’s anything like a ‘massive’ upgrade. Honestly, Terminus and Liberty Falls would fit perfectly into CW as DLC maps, minus Gobblegums… But you’re right, the gameplay in BO6 IS better than BO4.

It’s cod zombies? If they change as much as you’re wanting them to it just wouldn’t be cod zombies anymore. New maps, new guns, etc. is all that’s needed. Yeah modernize whatever game is coming out to match movement and other mechanics but other than that it should always relatively be the same.

@ I started on waw when I was 9, I’m definitely not the casual. In the beginning of zombies it was literally only survival. Now there are EE, challenges, etc. so I’m honestly confused on the point you’re trying to make

Mostly I'm referring to narrative and immersion. Compare Liberty Falls to a map like Mob of the Dead or Shadows of Evil; these maps weren't simply 'a different environment with Zombies in it' - these maps were INSPIRED by stories and culture, and every detail like soundtrack, characters, art direction and story was purposed to create a particular experience. Sure, CoD Zombies nowadays has decent variety with new locations, weapons and bosses, but when you look at maps like Origins with the Staves and the Giant Robots, you realise it used to be MORE.
