I remember driving a car full of friends, playing tapes with Massive Attack and Portishead albums loud. The road was straight, it was getting dark, and waiting for Teardrop and Roads, which took the entire time of listening to the other songs on the album, was replaced by the euphoria of listening to them. And so audio cassette player continued to play autoreversals. Every time I hear those songs, I'm in that car again.

This is a brilliant mix of two amazing songs and i hope that is why it’s here, as a melody of two. Since Portishead released Roads in 1994 and Massive Attack released Teardop in 1998 I don’t see the reason in comparing them. Sure they have similar sounds but are you saying one band copied another or there is a similarity in the brilliance of the writing and composing of both but that they are obviously on listening two different structures of music but god they fit together like some hallucinogenic jigsaw of brilliance. ❤
