So you're saying my extensive notes on Charlemagne, Benjamin Disraeli, Cicero, Genghis Khan, Eurypides, William Wallace, Robert LaSalle, Uncle Phil, Baxter Stockman, Kurt Wagner, Shawn Michaels, Minnie Driver, the character Mr Big, the band Mr Big and Levi Ackerman are all worthless? Why didn't Mr Feeny tell us any of this in class? All he did was act as a mentor and guide to the children of broken families, and still, it was only like two or three kids.

Nelson Mandela "Non violence". Sure you can say at the end, Mandela asked for peaceful change. But he was the leader of a Political Party that DID violence.

AP World History is terribly done if these are the only people who need to be learned. About half are not important enough for such a short list. 1) Zheng He is just a quirky anecdote. He accomplished nothing. 4) Adam Smith was a great philosopher but did not directly inspire political movements the way Marx did. 8&9) There's no need for one third of the figures to be non-violent activists. MLK is great, but he's for AP US History, not AP World History. And no Mandela because the fall of Apartheid is nowhere near as important as the end of the British Empire and colonialism. A better list would be like this: 1) Napoleon 2) Columbus 3) Bolivar 4) Bismark 5) Marx 6) Hitler 7) Gandhi 8) Stalin 9) Martin Luther Of course, there's plenty of others I could have picked. My choices also had European and Modern bias. I welcome other suggestions in response.

Nelson Mandela ellipses, non-violent? If that were the case he would have right now is the violence one of the three times the apartheid government gave him the option to do so and be freed. Is this is seriously what they are teaching these kids in “AP history“?

No issues with your content man. Just wanted to make an interesting comment for people here. The history course is very whitewashed. Because MLK and Nelson Mandella most certainly where not 'non-violent'. Nelson Mandella was a Terrorist to South Africa. His group, the ANC where a radical left-wing geurilla group fighting against the fascist colonial leftovers from the British Empire. MLK was Christian Socialist who didn't mind non-violence, but repeatedly and clearly stated that when non-violence was ignored (As it was often), violence was the next go-to.

The White mans burden is about White guilt, some White people feel sorry for the less fortunate and they give them the things that we created although they didn't earn it.

Charles Martel and Napoleon not being on the list is a crime. It’s embarrassing that “world history” is condensed into just the last 100 years basically
