The source mana is the icon on the left of the card; and the mana cost of a card is the middle icon. When and how (if ever) is the rightmost mana symbol used ?

I am not sure why you covered the red dragon in the grass under the mage tower (I don't think you defeated him).

When you defeated the mage tower you should have gotten a spell as a reward. (around 34:00 - 35:00) Okay, you caught this).

At approx. 19:00 when you showed the rules card, it displayed the stair-step patter for exploration. When you placed the 5th card (1st advanced terrain card), again, you can not explore 'downwards'.

Nice. I just found out about "Apophenia: Horror Hunt" and "Below: The Temple of Cthulhu". I am going to check them. Thanks. One note on the 20:20 the "Deck 52: Space Wrecked" was released earlier. This campaign is mainly about the other game which is new "Deck 52: Final Bus". Both are just together on the crowd sale. You completely missed that in the video. But I blame the developer who didn't make it clear enough and didn't put the new game first and more visible.

I backed Starlock because the solo/coop gameplay mostly changes compared to PvP one :) The map is not revealed and the tiles are randomly put, so it becomes almost a land crawler :) There are still events and enemy faction but that appears randomly.

No one else has commented yet. But around the 14-minute mark you were on your second combat and you were using the icons on your discard pile in addition to the two cards you chose for a combat. This means you had three cards you were using and serenade one. You use the double attack from your discard pile as one of your actions. I wonder if a film myself and we watched it how many mistakes I would make on my own lol I'm sure it's way more than I realize! Thanks for the video

My one gripe of the game so far is without the sleeves the stuff barely fits in tuck boxes - tokens in the tuck box not sure if that's a good call. I have yet to sleeve not sure if I will since the tuck box looks to do damage.

11:40 you don’t put the freeze token on the card like that. You put it on the card near the current round. I don’t see why you say his 2 shields point to the right. They are shields without arrow. Check the back of the beheaded aid. I don’t see why you don’t flip serenade card, you selected yours for the combat so you can flip serenade immediately thereafter.

I'm confused on one thing since I got mine. Hoe does the ST Equipment work. It's obviously Starter Equipment but I don't know where to put them or how to get them in the board game. Do you get them when starting out or do you have to earn them somewhere. I don't know where to put them and they don't belong to any biome. Not sure if this is a small problem or not but I'm confused about them.

I believe the ST equipment start as "available equipment" that you can draw from for merchants. Eventually blueprints will be unlcoked that then go into the equipment deck over the meta game.

ST equipment starts out in the Equipment deck, meaning they can be drawn from for merchants and/or chests. As far as where to put them during game, they're shuffled and placed on the colored-in chest spot on the Annexe board (The board with the Monster Decks, Blueprint Deck, and your Group Bag). Between games when boxing everything up, they're placed in the small area in the box next to the Deck of Secrets.

Video was interesting but the background music is too loud. Like the first battle, could not really hear what you are saying, see your hands but sounds mostly like mumbling

Yes, I think I will forgo music in the future during actual play. I turned it down to 0.01 and had my voice to 2 on the volume settings. I guess I could've had my voice to 10. I appreciate the feedback and will be something I will try to change! I did an unboxing of Dead Cells with music but it was mainly over the parts where I am turning over cards.

Excellent stuff and a lot to look forward to next week at Spiel. I already own Fateforge and it’s amazing. I’m getting Undaunted for sure too and likely will get The Mandalorian too, maybe Metro Runner. Missing from this list, maybe because it wasn’t available yet, is Ironwood. That one seems very fun solo with 2 different modes. Keep up the good work!

You're asking at 15:10 if you did a rule goof, and I can tell you you did two small ones for now! The figurine actually starts the biome on the beheaded head symbol. Meaning you accidentally skipped the very first node of the biome : a treasure node. Also in the fight just before, you forgot to apply the serenade card before yours, as it had the first player symbol, but that didn't change anything.

In the elite fight just after, when the undead archer does its first attack, according to the player aid, it deals "1 damage to 2 different ennemies", so you and the serenade HAD to take 1 damage each. That is what you did, but you said that it was a choice between that or a player taking 2 damage.

In the interbiome, you have to choose to heal, then you can see the equipment and choose to buy or not, then you can see the blueprint and choose to add it to your equipment deck, you have to do it in this order (meaning you have to chose to spend your gold to heal before seeing if it's worth buying some equipments). You can also heal only once, since it shows "1x".

A couple things. First off, a question: did those good teeth come fused together? Were you able to get them apart? Second, at the interbiome, with the level 0 heal, you can only do the heal action once. You used it for 3. Great play through though!

Mmm firstly I’ll keep both as I love rogue type games. In terms of solo and what I’ve played so far I would go with slay the spire if you had to choose. It was set up better for true solo play and I felt the deck building upgrading was happening more often and felt more impactful.

This is two weeks late and I'm not who you asked but I've played Slay the Spire dozens of times now both solo and multiplayer and Dead Cells I've played 7sh times solo since I got it (just did a reset so I can start fresh with some friends). Slay the Spire is almost a card for card remake of the game. The roguelike aspects of it sort of just make it feel like a normal boardgame (I "die" and replay in dominion all the time) with some light unlocks and an achievement system. A 3 act run basically would take an entire evening. The game is great though, already a top co-op in my estimation. It does everything right and the added co-op element really separates the experience from the video game. I currently rate it a 10/10. Dead Cells feels much more like a rogue-like. It departs meaningfully from its video game counterpart (as it'd have to mechanically) but it captures the feel of the genre in ways Slay doesn't. A run is quick. You start unlocking things off the bat and have more control over what you unlock; in fact it is probably the best part of the game. 7sh runs in and I barely feel like I made a dent in the huge amt of available unlocks but was able to take down my first boss. I'm very curious how this will feel multiplayer (particularly as it handles 4 a little weirdly). As a solo game I'd give it a preliminary 8 but that's being conservative: I definitely prefer this solo to StS for example. My biggest question marks around this one are the multiplayer aspect and how it feels after all the unlocks are done but regardless I'm likely to play it through in its entirety even if that's solo and I suspect I'll greatly enjoy the experience.

Two PnP games I backed that you missed: Shadows Deep - Print & Play (super short campaign though, dunno why) and Under Tower: A solo print & play dungeon crawler. Also, from the ones you mentioned, I backed: -Isla: PnP pledge, so glad they decided to offer it! -Ecologic: the early bird was really cheap, but I'm really waiting for some playthrough or I may cancel my pledge -Hunted-North Pole: PnP Unsure whether to back or not: -Emberleaf: same issue as always, shipping + vat is crazy expensive, although the game looks lovely and I love Frank's games, but I might wait for retail. -Fate of Witches: waiting for a playthrough (which should arrive soon, as per the latest update)

Its tough because I went on the original gamefound campaign and a lot of material came in the Tower expansion and other stretch goals boxes. So they hold a lot of content particularly solo scenarios. It seems you can download the dungeon and necropolis campaigns from their site and it is fully playable with just the core box. Inferno came with empowered stats cards but had no solo campaign as of yet.
