@BRIANFAIRBROTHER5 ай бұрын
@@6GSF Hi I did this video over three years ago and things have moved on with MYEG since. However MYEG is the system where golfers in England record scores directly to WHS and it is integrated at Dot golf level. It works on Android and IOS devices. There are many issues that Garmin would have to address. First to have MYEG on the device but also then have to replicate MYEG on devices. For this they would need to have a developer and iSV licences which I doubt they would wish to do. My opinion only and I do use a Garmin S42 to record my own on course performances.

@@BRIANFAIRBROTHER thanks brian much appreciated, so there is no way of automating scores into MYEG or WHS, ie with any on course app? Ive been using golfshot for ages and garmin epix alongside it. Just wondering as its all a bit unclear. many thanks again
@BRIANFAIRBROTHER5 ай бұрын
@@6GSF There are no course apps that integrate into MYEG and I doubt if any ever will. For info there are none that integrate with the US equivalent that is known as GHIN and unlike in England where MYEG is free you have to pay an annual subscription for GHIN. Another issue with golfshot and all the other apps is that they don’t have any form of score verification method. Hence why in MYEG you have to have an attestor. It’s all about integrity of the handicap system

I’m about to have my right hip replaced. I’m wondering if it’s difficult to rotate and shift the weight and rotate the hips through the shot or is it an all arm swing?. I’ve seen people swing with hip replacement, and it looks like they’re all arms versus shifting their weight and rotating their hips.
@BRIANFAIRBROTHER Жыл бұрын
The arms only swing happens because you cannot rotate properly because of the pain of the damaged hip. Once you have the Op done and providing you work at all the exercises you should have all the mobility you had before you started to suffer from the hip. If you could rotate before then definitely you will be able to do it after the Op. The message is work at the physio and you should get up to around 6 miles walking every other day by the 10 week period. Good luck, its a life changer.

Lovely video. Sat in the 6th grandstand in 2006, saw Woods make an eagle on the 5th and then stripe one to the heart of the 6th. The most striking thing about Woods was how ordinary he made players like Garcia and Els look. Which, for me, was almost unthinkable beforehand. Only downside was, quite a lot of the locals (going by the accent) were utterly inebriated and I feel let us down, with their penchant for shouting out a load of unsavoury tosh. It was the same at Birkdale in 2008. Other than that, The Wirral is a fantastic place to visit, as is the rest of the area. Some of the best people and courses anywhere on the planet.

It’s a shame that you have had to post this, though thanks anyway for a great job. This is the responsibility of my England golf and shows the short comings of most institutions how the confusing and I’ll structured things are. If I’m wrong on this I’m wrong! Please tell me where it states that you start entering your scores and info prior to the round starting. I thought you have to manually fill out a card and do all the info at the end. Needs to be made clearer. Again thank you for you efforts
@BRIANFAIRBROTHER Жыл бұрын
I posted this video nearly two years ago. Under WHS rules MYEG works the exact same way that a paper card works. Using a paper card you go in a pro shop and pre-register your round getting your card time and date stamped. Using MYEG you download the course card BEFORE you go out to play. You can then enter your scores at the end of play and have them attested. I state that in the video. The first point is that you don’t have to watch it. The second point is that out of over 7000 views yours is the only negative comment. The whole point of MYEG is that it removes the need for a manual card. A year after I did this England Golf posted a similar thing.

@geoffcohen613 Жыл бұрын
In Australia, clubs run comps most days, so if want to enter a score pay $5 and the computer will calculate your handicap and generate a card. Only scores from comps count. If want to play casually then dont enter comp. The role of club handicaper has been replaced by on line computet. Handicaps adjust after every round. With WHS it counts your rolling average of your best 8 scores from last 20.

As someone of the same age, I found this very interesting. Thank you. It endorses the widely held view that the G430 irons have something to offer for a wide range of golfers. The inclusion of an HL model and the three choices of loft, simply add to this club’s appeal.
@BRIANFAIRBROTHER Жыл бұрын
Thanks. As a follow up I went to Ping, Gainsborough Uk for a fitting. I ended up with G430 irons but with the Alta CB black shaft 55g Reg. yes it is a graphite shaft that plays like a steel and definitely not the senior flex. I did a video on the fitting and have since done an update video on the irons. Basically higher launch, less movement in the air, longer (ok they are slightly less loft) and stopping on quite firm greens very quickly.

I'm 70 with 95mph driver speed. 85ish for a 7 iron, so keep up the practice ... good work As a physicist, I'd suggest your arc theory is a little off as the only variable in your arc is the length of the club and how much you turn given your arms remain the same length. I'd suggest you are just giving yourself some room in the swing by standing a little further away. A lot of speed comes from your hips and there seems to be good rotation in the backswing but not sure about how active they are in the downswing. Worst theory ever was golf instruction talking about wide arcs. 🙂 I'm working with my coach on my hip rotation which, under pressure, fails me 🙂
