The Yamaha YH-WL500 can get loud with minimal clipping and no hiss, but they are unusable due to interference / audio dropouts with any Wi-Fi router in the vicinity. The AIAIAI TMA-2 Studio Wireless+ have minimal issues with interference, but they don't get loud, they clip easily, and they have a significant hiss problem. The ultimate product (for me, at least) would be one with the best of both these headphones' features (that is, minimal clipping, loud signal, no hiss, and no interference). Will iWA be such a solution? (I just heard about CME and registered)

@@rombsix what we are currently looking at is a tx/rx solution that can make your wired headphone go wireless. You can use your favorite headphone, and we can make it wireless. That is the first idea 💡
@rombsix
@rombsix 2 күн бұрын
@@CMEPro - that sounds great, but the problem is there would still be a cable between the rx and the headset (the actual cans). In that case, some of the wireless IEMs that already exist would be serving a similar function, no? I get it, that your tech will be more affordable than the pro level IEMs that cost in the thousands of dollars, but there would still be the hassle of a belt-pack and the hassle of the cable going from the belt-pack (i.e. the rx) to the cans / earbuds that are in contact with the user's head / ears. What I like about the Yamaha and the AIAIAI solutions is that they are truly cable-free, so just a short cable from the audio interface to the tx, and zero cables on or near the body of the musician (and no belt-packs but rather just the headset that has all the rx tech inside the headband). Can we dream of such innovation from CME in the future? Basically, it would be the current Yamaha product minus the interference (I know, that is one of the two hearts of the matter). After extensive testing, I had to return the Yamaha headphones (after purchasing them twice and not being able to get rid of the dropouts) and accept the limitations of the AIAIAI headphones. With the AIAIAIs, there are zero dropouts, rarely (if any) pops/crackles, and the audio quality is acceptable, but yeah, clipping issues, signal is not loud enough, and that damn hiss... Save us, CME! :P

@CMEPro 3 ай бұрын
Sorry for the inconvenience. If you connect two WIDI devices to each other, one will stay blue, the other turns turquoise indicating it operates as the central. When you connect a WIDI device via Bluetooth to an operating system, it will stay blue as it will always operate as the peripheral of the operating system that acts as the central. This is about the Bluetooth LED on the left. The green LED on the right turns green when you connect the USB side and it powers on. This is normal behavior: www.cme-pro.com/widi-uhost-start-guide-bluetooth-midi-usb-host/#tve-jump-1835c2af79e I guess your WIDI Uhost is automatically connected to the device that you used to upgrade its firmware. This occupies the connection, and at that point it is no longer available to connect to your MIDI device via Bluetooth. That is standard behavior too. You should remove your WIDI Uhost from the general Bluetooth device list of your mobile device used for updating via WIDI App, to avoid this auto-connectivity. Once that is done, the left LED will blink blue slowly, indicating it is waiting for a connection. If your MIDI device has integrated Bluetooth MIDI, they will now be able to auto-connect. You can use group auto-learn to create a fixed connection between your WIDI device and your 3rd party Bluetooth MIDI controller. Please check out the online start guide to understand the LED indicators and locate the scenario for connection instructions for your specific setup. www.cme-pro.com/widi-uhost-start-guide-bluetooth-midi-usb-host/#tve-jump-1835c2af79e If you need more guidance, let me know or reach out via support: www.cme-pro.com/support/ 🙏

@@CMEPro This is not true. MOST hardware devices do NOT provide power. Certain music devices do, like Keyboards or multieffects, but many controllers do not provide power at the MIDI jack. This severely limits the use of the product and makes it unusable for me, as about 80% of my devices do not provide power at the jack, so I agree with meatmeep above. I would happily pay three times more to have internal power as part of the device. Having to attach a third-party battery completely negates the point of having a small MIDI jack device, and makes this unusable as a solution almost anywhere.
@CMEPro
@CMEPro 4 ай бұрын
@@KudaBear-jy1zl I understand your position on this. The honest story us that it has been considered, but the best option is to offer WIDI Jack with an external power option via USB-C. Actually, WIDI Jack was specifically designed for this scenario. It does exactly the same as WIDI Master, and adds exchangeable cables and external power. This widens the usage of WIDI to unpowered MIDI ports, devices with only MIDI in, TRS MIDI type A/B and even the rare DIN-6 mini, sometimes used by Yamaha. Again, I understand it is not the perfect solution for your scenario, but it delivers a solution for many. From a development perspective, you have to keep in mind that adding batteries has consequences for certification, safety and the design. It requires a different moulding, and a higher cost. As WIDI Master and WIDI Jack already offer a solution for many, the remaining market for your solution becomes small and the price will go up. Not only for certifications and safety requirements, but also for a small market with a small production requirement. These are all decisions we have to take into account, and that is why we are currently at this stage. Of course, an internal battery can be considered, but imagine what it will do for service matters. An external power option is easily replaced. Integrating an internal battery in the design, requires servicing for many years of that exact same model for replacement. Maybe in the future we are able to meet your requirements, as the demand rises for WIDI, making the market large enough for a solution like yours. I hope the above provides you sufficient insights to understand why these kind of decisions are made. I do appreciate and understand your demand for this, but we simply cannot supply that at this moment. 🙏🙏

WIDI is like a virtual MIDI cable. If presets can be changed via MIDI messages on your Axe FX, it can be done with WIDI. Feel welcome to drop a post in our Facebook Group to find people who can share their experience with you: facebook.com/groups/cmeprofans

Can any of these boxes act as a USB host? I'd like to use several USB-only MIDI controllers to control several DIN-only MIDI instruments.

No, the USB ports are all for USB hosts, like your operating system. In our wireless solutions, we do offer WIDI Uhost, it might be interesting for you: www.cme-pro.com/the-best-midi-usb-host-is-wireless/

Assumably it will improve it. Please check this blog for selecting the right WIDI device: www.cme-pro.com/widi-which-device-will-you-connect/ As you can also plug in a WIDI Bud Pro or WIDI Uhost directly in the USB port of your mac 🙃 And follow the instructions of the online start guide: www.cme-pro.com/widi-master-start-guide-bluetooth-midi/ Hope this helps 👍

I am not sure what you exactly mean, but WIDI can transmit any MIDI message, it is like a virtual MIDI cable. Hope this helps 😀👍

Hello, I have a problem with my 2 widi masters. I've had them for about 5 months and they've had little use. At first they worked well. But I had to dismantle the studio and put it back together. Since then I can't transfer midi to my Kontakt 7 program. I didn't change anything about the settings and I checked everything and it seems to be correct. The lights flash rapidly blue on one side and light blue on the other. They always flash quickly, without me touching the instrument.

If it worked before, we should be able to get it working again. Please make sure that you plug in your WIDI Master correctly. The large main adapter needs to go into the MIDI Out and the small sub adapter in the MIDI In. Also, make sure your WIDI Master is not connected to your mobile devices that runs WIDI App. What you explain is a working connection that transmits. Assumably your issue is not associated with the wireless connection, but with settings in your software. Did you check your MIDI channel settings? Two WIDI devices pair automatically. You can do a factory reset via WIDI App: www.cme-pro.com/cme-widi-app-online-start-guide/#tve-jump-18c7652b0f7 Make sure after you connected each WIDI device to WIDI App for the factory reset, that you remove your WIDI devices from your mobile’s general Bluetooth device list, or turn Bluetooth off entirely, to avoid unwanted auto connection with your mobile device. Also, make sure your WIDI devices are set to ‘auto’ in the BLE role section, as it is set by factory default: www.cme-pro.com/cme-widi-app-online-start-guide/#tve-jump-18c7650cd45 Once you taken care of the above, they will pair automatically: www.cme-pro.com/widi-master-start-guide-bluetooth-midi/#tve-jump-1834a88fdb3 If you want to create a fixed pair, a way to ensure one WIDI us always connected to a specific other, useful when working with multiple WIDI pairs, you can use the group function of WIDI App: www.cme-pro.com/widi-master-start-guide-bluetooth-midi/#tve-jump-1834add1fd2 If the above was not helpful, please do reach out for personal assistance: www.cme-pro.com/support/#tve-jump-183922d36ae
