Are the bearing damaged when removed with this tool?

When the bearing puller is used properly the bearings are not damaged and can be reused. Keeping the outer race on while pulling will protect the rollers and cage. Check the clamshell before using to ensure it is the appropriate size for each bearing - it should catch evenly all the way around the cage. Then make sure the clamshell and puller are centered on the bearing for a clean pull off each time.
