If you put it inside your home it will b messy since there’s no catch basin for the drainage.

Jade dies if you give it that much water just stick them in dirt that has a slight amount of moisture. Ive had these for years and a single leaf will start growing when it drops into the soil from the main plant. We water about 1x every 3 months. My plants are huge and take up 4 planters and about 4 ft of space length wise

Hi John. Can I use worm castings instead of compost? Thanks
@candidwithjohn3202
@candidwithjohn3202 Жыл бұрын
Hi. Both worm castings and compost have a variety of benefits for plants and soil, but worm castings are generally considered to be more nutrient-rich and concentrated. If you wish to give your soil and plants an added boost for plant growth, disease-prevention, and water retention then castings are a great option.

Thanks for the video. I just bought a croton and the information you have shared is very helpful. I don't live in India so neem cake powder is not available here. What can be used to substitute this?
@candidwithjohn3202
@candidwithjohn3202 Жыл бұрын
Never mind if you don't have neem cake powder. Croton plants prefer soil that allows excess water to drain freely. Avoid soil that becomes waterlogged or retains too much moisture, as this can lead to root rot. Good drainage can be achieved by adding organic matter such as compost.

I got root rot on 2 of my plants that ive had for iver 5yrs ☹️☹️ i think i should water from bottom
@candidwithjohn3202
@candidwithjohn3202 Жыл бұрын
Trim affected roots: Using clean and sterilized pruning shears, carefully trim away any brown, mushy, or decaying roots. Make clean cuts above the damaged portion, ensuring healthy tissue remains. Removing damaged roots helps prevent the spread of the rot. Adjust watering habits: Proper watering is crucial to prevent root rot. Allow the soil to dry partially between watering sessions. Stick your finger about an inch into the soil; if it feels dry, it's time to water. Ensure the pot has drainage holes to allow excess water to escape

well explained. icould we use hydro phonic cups to fill the clay balls n use another transparent pet bottle to hold water and keep filling it as and when required. nstead of disturbing the plant every two weeks for changing water.

@KimTindall-ux3vr
@KimTindall-ux3vr Жыл бұрын
I always use them to start cuttings but I fill the container up with water. The clay balls hold the cuttings in place. Works great, 100% success rate.

How many days water change
@candidwithjohn3202
@candidwithjohn3202 Жыл бұрын
It is ideal to change the water every 5 to 7 days. Fresh water contains more oxygen so changing the water regularly can help promote healthy root growth leading to faster and more successful propagation.
