I was at this game and later at the National Championship on New Year's. Great year for the dogs. Played against Hershel in highschool and he was the best ever. Super athlete.

I own that No. 15 jersey worn in this game by Tavarres King. Would be great if one day I could get him to sign it.

I was born in 2001 and all I had ever seen growing up was the Mark Richt Bulldogs. One of my youngest core memories was attending this game with my father. I’d been thinking of this game and those memories now as I will going to see Georgia play in the Sugar Bowl once again. Go Dawgs!

There was never a better college football announcer than early 2000’s Brad Nessler.
Oh the days when we were young, to watch the Boys of Fall, when we thought all was lost and to watch them win it all! 😂😂😂 The 1980 season was so magic because no one expected anything at the season start. But as each game resulted in a win, and the momentum built, by Christmas everyone was Dawg crazy in Georgia. And to beat Notre Dame was the Coup de Grace. I was 12 years old.

A game like this was what made college football once great. I am sure I watched this back in 1980 but had forgotten how it ended. What a terrific game!

I was at this game. Somehow my 4 year old slept right through the ending, it was so loud there. One of the best, watching spurrier pace the sideline and go home a loser.

This is one of the games that I point to for examples of anti-Georgia bias. All they talked about was how Hawaii could win. "Who would think that Georgia would be leading in passing yards?" I just love how they bragged how the Hawaii offensive line only gave up 30 sacks the whole season, and then Georgia goes and gets 8 sacks!!😂😂😂

And then Paul Johnson set GT back at least a decade with his antique of a triple option offense. Couldn't happen to a better program.
