Thank you for this. I am working through this same process on my 68. I’m a first timer, so this was good to see.

looks good. I had a March pulley kit on my other car, they work great and easy to adjust. Although I used the main alternator bracket on the bottom hole as the pivot and the adjuster on the top. Either works well

Nothing like bolting on new parts, very satisfying. i wish I could help on the pulley alignment issue. I would measure the WP shaft length on the old pump and compare to your new one just to make sure it is not the pump. good luck as i hate when new parts do not work

What was the weather like a few days before you painted it?. And did anyone use armoal near the car ?
@austindowney71422 ай бұрын
weather was maybe in the mid 50s if I recall, I think the bigger issue was the fluctuation down to the 20s at night after applying the epoxy primer and body filler.

Looking forward to what you decide. I will be in the same boat next year. I am t5 swapping the car this winter. I am leaning towards just building a 347 stroker with a early 90's roller block. The other best option I think is the blueprint 347.
@PistonWrenchCycle2 ай бұрын
Maybe a cleveland 351?
@68mustangrestoration342 ай бұрын
WOW, coyote engines are pricey.. I had gone the 347 route, but I did not use my original block, went with a 4 bolt main R302 block and yes I was over 400 at the wheels and very happy. I ended up with a 750 Holley rather than injection. I know I left some power on the table but like the simplicity of a carburator. and yes I suggest the Tremec TKO 500 as I tore my T5 world class apart within a month of installing the motor. A new engine is always exciting, look forward to your decision and follow-up

God damn, these comments. You did great mate (probably a lot better than when I have to tackle this soon haha). I don't know what is up with the Mustang community being condescending and rude with people all the time.

Hope I was able to help a little bit, but I knew what comments I would get when I posted my DIYer skills online for everyone to see. I'm a first timer on all of this and still have a ton to learn. My goal with my channel is to hopefully encourage others as I don't edit anything out, keep my videos pretty raw, and make plenty of mistakes. If you think the comments here are bad check out the ones on my DIY paint job setup and paint job itself.

Glad you got it done, I too was afraid one of the needle bearings had slipped out between the cap and the joint stopping it from setting in place. I also took my driveshaft to a shop as you have to make sure these things are right. If they get out of round or balance they can really shake up the car. Keep it up
