I never met Mr. Van Sickle, but had the chance to work briefly with Ben Lo, Tam Gibbs, Maggie, Newman, and Ed Young while in the Tai Chi Program at the Naropa Institute in Boulder CO. Went off into other Yang forms, did Chen, now back with the Professor for health later in life. I hope Professor Cheng's Tai Chi will help me live longer with my wife, who is the love of my life. If you are in Richmond VA, try Two Rivers Tai Chi, led by John Crouse, who studied with Ben Lo for 30 years. IMHO a clear shot at Professor Chen's style.

Nice and friendly ruleset! I have found it helpful to add 'tap-out' to the playset. A player may tap their partner to indicate their signal that it is the 'end' of that specific interaction. I have found myself in a position where I am sure I have my partner 'out' and they do not feel so. In that case they can 'try things' to extract themselves. In other cases I am sure that I do not have my partner 'out' and they are sure they are out and they panic and struggle to 'get away'. The tap-out reduces misunderstandings. Wonderful to see so many folks engaging in friendly exploring!

With respect to Da Lu, it was my understanding that Da Lu was teaching his Tai Chi at the UN he invited Professor Cheng Man-Ch'ang to teach with him. When Cheng Man-Ch'ang opened his studio downtown, most, if not all, of the students left Da Lu and followed Cheng Man-Ch'ang. Da Lu believed that Chang Man-Ch'ang stole his students. Now I am unaware whether Da Lu was a student of Cheng Man-Ch'ang or not, but Da Lu was a good Tai Chi practitioner with sticking ability. However, Da Lu was more interested in making money than teaching Tai Chi Chuan to his students. As a student of any discipline it is good to keep in mind as Mr. BP Chan always said: "Follow the principles not the teacher."

This man meant the World to Me. was literally just looking at the picture of He and I together, circa Early 90's. (I had hair then!) one of the sweetest and softest People God ever put on this Earth. I am a better Man having Known Him.

Sorry to say this but this kind of Tai Chi performance is a completely colective hipnosys! First none of these applications are realistic, second there are no TCC principles here: I know the reputation of this master in Southeast Asia but to me this is fake!
