Queen Mary 2: 1,132 feet long, 135 feet wide (147.5 feet with bridge wings), 236.2 feet tall keel to funnel, and 149,215 gross tons. Queen Victoria: 964.5 feet long, 106 feet wide (120 feet with bridge wings), 205 feet tall keel to funnel, and 90,049 gross tons. Looks can be deceiving, Queen Victoria is actually a very big ship and only looks small in comparison to Queen Mary 2.

Don't you think it would have made more sense to have christened QM2 Queen Victoria in the first place, and not give Queen Victoria name to a lesser ship on the fleet? BTW, it is said that Cunard wanted to name the original Queen Mary Queen Victoria (logically, as it was the best of the best at the time).
