I remember in the beginning when people were shocked at their song "Assembly". I heard it and just knew they were onto something. They more they kept at their music, the more love they received. Now, that members are doing their own thing, they want Wild Beasts back.

They made one great and one very good album but sadly they never really Evolved (pun intended) beyond that sound and that was there downfall (along with Craig’s metal health falling apart ) and you are correct to call NME out who seemingly loved Craig completely spiralling out of control and at times seem to encourage it

the vines are an amazing band, each of their record has great tacks, their first two records are pure gold, but also their latest release. Even Melodia which is the worst has some good tunes. Craig continued to write music, his side project white shadows from 10 years ago is nice as well. I think the issue is fame, we should be able to enojy music without putting people on a pedestal or putting so much pressure on them, I am sorry I might never be able to hear them live but I am happy they keep on releasing new music

From my Zume player and Midnight Club LA is where I heard of this band. Zume player had their music video Let's Make Love For The Death Up Above pre installed and MCLA had the track The Rat Is Dead on its tracklist. Man time flies by, that was almost 20 years ago.

The cover band I play in in the UK (the Home Grown) play Spread Your Love and Whatever Happened to My Rock and Roll, and in most pubs it seems like the songs are not recognised by most folks. But every now and again someone will approach us during a break and say "that is such a great song" or "I've not seen anyone cover BRMC before". So hope is not all lost on music lovers.

"He want them to sound old-fashioned and at the same time futuristic " It means the idea of the voidz was always there, jules tried in his first solo, then he accomplished that sound with the voidz . Maybe the voidz is the band he always wanted to be with. Sounds heartbreaking but maybe the strokes was always a base and the first stage to get what he really wants.

I was there! Great lineup I'll never forget getting back to my tent after GnR, and just being able to hear police helicopters, riot police and dogs One thing that is overlooked on this was that the security were throwing glass bottles from inside the toilet block at the people outside hitting several people, thats what caused the petrol bombs to be thrown in

I'm only just discovering the band and checking out the genre, it's really sad, back then this wasn't my scene and totally missed out on this. I see there are a few New Wave / Electroclash tracks slowly emerging 'underground'. Hoping this will beecome a mainstream genre again, and of course CSS returning.
