I’ll try to do better but the fun part is hearing all the mispronunciations and then the fun part for me is getting ripped apart in the comments about it

Yeah, I remember those. Wasn't a randomized distribution of cards or packs. The Frank Thomas and Kevin Maas packs were always in the same place in the box, so honest dealers would shuffle packs when placing a new box out for sale. So, if someone asked for the 3rd pack down on the right side (ex. knowing which pack had the Thomas or Maas), they just bought a random pack. The rather unscrupulous vendors just opened the box in the back, pulled the hit packs, and replaced them with other packs from another box they'd picked. And then just sold off the slag to unwary customers .... only sure way was to buy a sealed box, and even then, was questionable if it had been resealed. Or worse, open a new box in front of customers, deliberately pull the 2 hit packs out of the box, and then place it out for pack sale like nothing ever happened. I worked at a sports card shop back in that day, we were honest and didn't tamper with product. Dealers were even taking boxes of other products to the airport to run thru the metal detectors to determine if Nolan Ryan foils (and other sports) were in the box to pop. Was a sad era for sports card collectors. Not to mention all the re-sealed wax packs.

Not much unfortunately. Raw cards get around a dollar or two. But a PSA 10 Griffey could get $60-70!
