Usually, I skip this type of stuff but after getting marinated by rollerblading videos from the stuttering skater and then on top of that ice skating Yesterday...the KZbin algorithm got a perfect hit and Incline Speed Skating got another full watch xD. THise front two skaters are risky af but I'll say. Damn was that a tactic :D

It would be a better sport if it weren't a carbon copy of ice skating events. There ARE ways you could do that. Add obstacles. Or do it in a velodrome using some of the track cycling formats like points races or elimination races. Or maybe inline races entirely a road racing sport, but with sharp turns, curbs ,ramps etc that road cycling can't have. It only takes a little creativity - not even total originality.

the point is, they may have used up a lot of energy up front but then they could stay tucked in at the back with no stress at all, getting the most of the slipstream, with zero threat of being eliminated.
