This lousy that you're talking about, kdrama made him The Star. After this he started to get good offers in S.Korea. And it's silly to compare Vincenzo; Dots with this. This kdrama released on 2012. And Descendants of the sun(2016) kdrama made him a hallayu star means world wide famous.

It's my 2nd kdrama after Boys over flowers, I've watched 10yrs back when i started watching kdramas.

After doing The Innocent Man(the moment he started to be on peak of his career) he enlisted into his mandatory millitary training. Then after coming back he did descendants of the sun and the rest is history.

I agree there are some moments which were too slow. But except those parts, rest are amazing. Moon chae won & Song Joon ki are my best couple till date. To me they're iconic cz I've watched them before Vincezo & DOTs(which are also good but not my personal favourite couples)

This drama was aired in 2012 which means around 11 years ago...this was Joong Ki's first drama as lead...lousy or not this drama was a turning point for his career.. I don't think it was a bad choice...tho storyline sometimes got over dramatic or boring, but Song Joongki's brilliant acting made me overlook this things... also it's an old drama, so we can't quite blame on him on choosing this
