This is why I am passionate for caring for people who have mental illness. I, myself, have same diagnosis as some of these folks but fortunate enough to be able to function and live in society. I feel sorry for those who can’t win the fight and end up in places like this, esp when they are unaware they are sick. 😢 I am currently a nurse and working on going into psych. Yes, I’m on meds to better manage my mental illnesses.

I inherited bipolar from my dad I've been in the system since i was first hospitalised when i was 12 yrs old the doctors had to wait until i was 19 yrs before they could start lithium therapy 31 years ago I've spent collectively around 2 yrs as an in patient then in 1997 i was diagnosed with ptsd my wife of 20 yrs left for another month my children 4 sided with me i told them no your mum is your mum people do strange things be her friend i have faith by the Good Grace of Jesus Christ it will all be OK for all concerned i have 3 grandchildren now also so i must count my blessings and i do I'm still a little broken though Jesus Christ is nearer to the broken hearted i have good days sometimes without any lows ill always need to take lithium and other meds God Is Good Christ is King Jesus Is LORD Immanuel Jehovah God With Us Jesus Is Immanuel

This may have been produced in the 80s or 90s. Nowadays, most of these places have been closed. They consider it to be more cost effective to cycle these people in and out of jail and prison.

I have done a good bit of prison time not for mental health. But I can promise you they will always dream of being out and better . But alot of the mental health ,patient that don't and won't. Take there meds the side effects of thorisen are not good yea nerve pills work yes . But I have see people doing a shuffle on that ..... they can't help it that's serious mental health meds

It perhaps would seem this paticular young is presumably not responding to treatment and although myself a non clinician, I belive a swift change may be appropriate. Obviously a paticularly difficult character, the current prognosis doesn't look positive and do wonder whether more invasive treatment such as electric shocks maybe the way forwards, a most interesting interesting and eclectic selection of individuals, absolutely unique
