Great film. Makes most of today's classic car rallies look like a walk in the park.

Great to see this. My dad was working for a VW dealer in NZ in 1956. They used this film for VW promotion. I was about 9 yrs.

Very enjoyable! Great footage. As a kid growing up at the time, these trials were incredible and exciting events. We were starved of coverage. Before TV in Australia! So it was radio, print media, newsreels, word of mouth.

My Dad, Kevin Parker, not only survived that horror crash in car 106 with his brother Doug, but is still going well at 95.

Many thanks to you guys and gals at the Peugeot club for this. Its a fascinating look at the cars and culture of Australia in the 50'. I'm 60 now, going on 22 😊 and have been fortunate enough to visit your lovely country many times. Undoubtedly modern cars are very impressive, but the scope for improvement and relative simplicity of earlier cars make for a world of experimentation and adventure. With my rose tinted spectacles I would love to have taken part, ignoring the undoubted hardships of life then. The years after WW2 were surely a time of hope, a feeling of building a better country. Are Peugeot cars still sold in Australia today? After years of average cars and a poor reputation they have some excellent models, and are very popular here in the UK. This film is very well narrated and a credit to the film makers. More please.

The 1958 trial was hardly around Australia. Still would have been a great adventure.

It's a good thing drivers were wearing safety belts in their cars. Given the seriousness of the crashes that happened, imagine if they weren't.
