Thank you, quick question, I'm trying to key my parented object on an animation layer to rotate while it's connected to the wrist control. However, the objects rotation changes across all my keys when I do that. Is this a limitation? Or is there a way to allow the object to be keyed while it's parented?

Would this also work when you put it into the Story tool and start putting it together with other takes? Would the prop stay in place?

Yes if the prop and animation are plotted to the current take before using the clip in story mode.

You need to select all the animations when doing the motion file import. This will add them as takes.

I have a problem that the when the player touches the ladder it becomes infinite like neverending ladder. I know where the problem is but I dont know ho to fix it. In ontriggerenter it is turning off his collider and the there is nothing to check that the player is out

Not sure why the collider would be disabled while in the ladder trigger. I don't believe any of the code disables the players collider. Maybe try checking the ladder height to be sure the player exits the trigger.

Hey, question...once I bake the animation to the skeleton at the end of the tutorial, is there anything special I need to do get the animation to play in Maya? When I import the baked.fbx file into Maya, the character with the skeleton loads, but there is no animation.

I have about 10 years of experience in Maya with keyframe animation, but now I am learning Motionbuilder so that I can get a job at a game studio, and I know nothing about motion capture data, but this helped tremendously! Once it is plotted the weapon will be animated without the constraint so you won't need it anymore.

when I zero root the skeleton of the fbx animation, it does not result in a t-Pose. rig just looks jacked up.

Your character animation might not have a bind pose setup. A way around this is if you can freeze the transformations from the Tpose of skeleton that is identical to the one for the animations.

exactly what i did in my script...Only,my character sort of jitters at the top of ladder.Not sure how to fix it.But if i don't let go W key,all is fine.How about jumping from ladder to ladder,or from wall to wall?Would be interesting for some kind of adventure/action platformer(2.5D side scroller)

How do I export the original skeleton with the retargeting applied? There seems to be no animation on the original skeleton when exporting as .fbx or exporting as motion file

Hi Eve, Sorry for the late reply. I have been on vacation the last month and a half and unplugged from online communication and taking a much needed break. You need to make sure you plot the skeleton before you save the FBX file. You should do this as a plotted version so that changes can be made to the original. I am not sure on this one because I think MotionBuilder needs to reinterpolate the entire curve. Have you found any results on your questions?

make a platform and put it little bit above the ladder and place it behind then after getting up the ladder press w to climb up the platform. Hope this solves your problem. :)
