I liike the new EPCOT so far. I have been going to EPCOT since 1984 and have watched it evolve through the years. EPCOT was totally different and aw inspiring. EPCOT made you think and wonder about the world. I was appalled when they started adding in the IP - it doesn't belong at EPCOT. Slowly the park lost its way and started to become what it was not meant to be - a Disney Commercial. That is why I hated HARMONIOUS. It felt like a long, drawn out commercial for their animated films. Luminous feels much more EPCOT. It has heart - a fact they drive in hard - literally showing you hearts. They had to dig deep - but they found snippets of Disney music that fit to the theme perfectly without feeling forced. I liked Illuminations better, and think they should have kept the music and updated the tech. But, I can live with Luminous over Harmonious any day. I also really like the new gardens - especially at night. EPCOT has always needed more green spaces. Future World was a concrete city and World Showcase is mostly waterfront. This new park space makes EPCOT feel like the city that Walt dreamed about in the first place. The park also has two different vibes which gives them "two bangs for the buck". During the day it is a nice chill place to sit, eat, check your phones, and most importantly, charge those phones. All of those chargers are going to be a huge draw. And at night, the park space becomes an extention of the Spaceship Earth show. - amazing! I do hope they listen to disappointment from many of us and replace the central planter with a small fountain. As for the interior of Spaceship Earth, I hope they are smart and leave it as the museum peice that it is. Sure, go in and update the lighting,, add some projection mapping in the background here and there, replace a few animatronics, redo the narration. But leave the old girl for us all to enjoy. As Walt would say - plus it. I am hoping that the Imagination Pavilion is next. The glass pyramid would look amazing synced to Spaceship earth too. They need to gut the existing ride and try to recreate the masterpiece that they took out so many years ago. With today's technology, this could become an E-ticket ride again. Bring back Dream Finder. Bring back all of it. It was perfect! Figment was and always will be the "spark of imagination" of the park. Figment represents Walt's childlike imagination. That is what he was created to be. Let him shine! I think EPCOT is slowly getting back on track. And now, Walt gets to sit on his bench and watch his heart beat over the World Showcase Lagoon every night. As it should be.
