We lived in our new trailer for 3 months. We dry the inside of the curtain after each use. Alas, that does NOT keep the mildew from growing as it still gets down through the stitches on the curtain. I was hoping someone would have a “miracle” way of cleaning it. We are on our way home to a dry climate, hoping the mildew with die on its own without daily use.
@BOOTENWAGENАй бұрын
Alas yes, no panacea has come to my mind when it comes to cleaning - even bleach doesn't seem to cut the mustard. We also dry the inside of the curtain, then keep it partially open while running the bathroom fan all day. Seems to have kept it the mold at bay.

I have had good luck with using S. C. Johnson's Scrubbing Bubbles as a coil cleaner on HVAC condensers. It seems to work as well as Nu-Calgon Nu Blast Condenser Air Conditioner Coil Spray, at a cheaper price. The are both alkaline based with the Scrubbing Bubbles being less alkaline but still works, you just have to let it sit for a bit longer.
@BOOTENWAGENАй бұрын
Nice, that's good advice, especially for not having to go out of your way for specialty supplies. I was just kind of guessing that something foaming was needed like the HVAC tech guys on KZbin used to really get far into the radiator.

You need a dehumidifier in the PNW wet season for this condition. I live here and we learned it from our folks who live on the coast. We have a Perfectaire model, their smallest one. We run in it in our 24' trailer for size reference. When we camp in wet season, it runs constantly. And often fills daily which is about half a gallon. And we're often hanging wet gear as well being we snowboard and camp in the rain half the year. If really shopping to fix this issue, look for a dehumidifier with an exterior drain option. This way, when at 80% humidity, you won't fill your tank and stop the machine, it'll just run and ring out the moisture from the air and send it down your sink. I made a 1/2" ID tubing tube rig for this. Went long sharing, but it was about the PNW, and this is a real problem here. And a dehumidifier is how you fix it. We even have small dessicant models in the closets in the winter. We just wore out a set some rechargeable types and had to replace them.
@BOOTENWAGEN2 ай бұрын
The more you know! Yeah, we started keeping dessicants in some of the closets. We also got this teeny Hall effect type of dehumidifier, but it was extremely ineffective. The number of climate control devices got out of hand here in a hurry as we travelled all the climate zones - space heater, air purifier, humidifier, and dehumidifier lol.

@@BOOTENWAGEN they have updated the bird in the 2023 vegas I am working on to a 00-00956-00 potted bi directional isolator relay . my milliamp draw was only 75ma which is good for about 2-3 weeks. 30 milliamps is usually good for a month. that quarter amp draw from your radio head unit seems high even for stand by mode. I have seen sub woofer amps and other cheap china audio stuff pull upwards of 150 ma (sleeping mode) but never more than that. The only beef I have with Thor is lack of documentation & the position of the relay and bird is right in front behind the grill which allows a lot of water to cause corrosion.
@automan12232 ай бұрын
@@BOOTENWAGEN 11:00 min mark you mention that the red wire did not make any difference with blown fuse. Sounds like the rig has a stuck internal state on. that is why its pulling so much power. More china junk

Thanks for the video. Any idea if we could get the Blue Ox power from one of the up-fitter switches that come prewired in some Broncos?
@BOOTENWAGEN3 ай бұрын
Ah I considered that during my build actually, and to my knowledge, no. Those switches are not active while the Bronco accessory power is off. And even if you didn't turn the Bronco accessory power off while towing, the switches get disabled after some time - 45 minutes I believe (but who knows if they changed anything about that behavior with an over-the-air update). I think they are run to some relays governed by the computer, which turns everything off unless the engine is running. Unfortunate really, because that would be really slick and give me an excuse to actually use up a switch lol. I'll add that it's probably possible to re-wire a switch to be directly wired to the battery. I also wonder if the computer could be reprogrammed, maybe there's a flag that can be disabled to ignore whether the engine is running or not. @SaltyCaliO23 күн бұрын
Maybe provide a link. I tried the "other method" of having the slide partially out and locking the spring then letting the slide go out to make it taunt again. This only lasted about a couple weeks and the awning became super loose again after a rainstorm. So with that said I like this guy's idea as I get to actually tighten the internal spring like a garage door opener.

I am getting no heating on electric, and no gas/ignition click on gas. It has been suggested it is a thermostat? Could this be it, can I check the thermostats?
@BOOTENWAGEN4 ай бұрын
It's possible - I assume you don't have a fault light on. Here's my best guess for your situation (if I understand how it works correctly): if your thermostat failed and got stuck in the 'open' position, it would be telling your control board that the water is 'always hot', so no need to turn the heating element on. That would also disable the gas ignition. You can test my theory by unplugging the two wires leading to T'STAT and touching them together (not just momentary, but let them continue to touch each other). If the heater turns on, that's a bingo, and you need to replace the thermostat.
