i had no idea that this was a real "thing" . I find country music and dancing very funny and i was amazed to find that people actually listen and dance to this awful sound . i thought they were on a comedy show , all dressed up as Howdy Doody aiming for the spitoon . I guess its for folk who dont get out much and know no better . Its good for a laugh now and again but really ? . Each to their own i suppose but not for me .

Who exactly on this video is dressed up as Howdy Doody? Everyone looks dressed normally to me.

A truly wonderful concert. Many of the performers you see here were young enough to be in this years {2024} ensemble performing at Cecil Sharp house which I was fortunate enough to see 'live', without doubt it was by far one of my favourite folk/music experiences ever. So purely, joyously beautiful that many listeners were tearful !. Every one of these beautiful people are so obviously capable of a career in music, their passion for it so clearly evident here, no doubt in futre we will bump into them when they are touring the world in our futre favourite bands ect. You really must try to catch them playing live, there's a 'youth takeover' of Cecil Sharp house coming soon.... I've already got tickets...... can't wait to be there.

Thank you Peggy. I well remember Margaret Barry's "I heaved a sigh and I said goodbye to the hills of Donegal". When I lived in Austin, Jack Elliott slept on our couch and we had to evict him. Later in SF he tried it again. He was a good singer, but his people skills were lacking. I'll never forget yours and Ewan's kindness to me in Berkeley when I bugged Ewan to sing either Sheath & Knife or Hind Horn when he had a nasty cold. He sang it with one of your sons, forgot which one. At one point you wrote the words and tune for me to The Daemon Lover on a cocktail napkin at the Great American Music Hall in SF and saved us seats as we were stuck in a long line to get in,. We hadn't asked you so I thought that was really nice. I love everything you do and I love that you are sharing your decades of experience with us. I dont use the cloud, but I am streaming wonderful stuff like this on KZbin and I am grateful for it. Oakland CA 2024

Hello Sandra: what a nice thoughtful post. Many folksingers lacked people skills ... the lifestyle kind of led to that. Now the Great American Music Hall in SF...! Wonderful place to be and sing. We loved it. Also: it shares with the Chicago Gate of Horn the medal for the best hamburgers ever. Thanks again ... memories need refreshing.

Actually several different dances are shown. For some dance suggestions take a look at our Resource Bank, eg www.efdss.org/learning/resources/resources-listing/3013-creative-folk-dance-primary - and there are many more resources at www.efdss.org/learning/resources/resources-listing?topics=dance

why do efdss pretend to care about English culture when it's so obvious that you despise our culture, heritage and history. Also, I think you should remember that it is illegal to discriminate against people based on race/colour/ethnicity - i have had a look at your equity policy on your website and you clearly state that you don't believe in equality, but choose equity instead. Thankfully people are finally waking up (in part thanks to GBNews and TalkRadio) and understanding that their very being and culture is at stake due to neo-Marxists such as yourselves. The tide is turning 🙂
