Indian Idol is a scripted show. In this show, everything is fixed in advance. After watching Indian Idol 12, I also realized that the show's promoter never declares a girl the winner just by voting. And there is a lot of opacity in their voting system. It is never seen anywhere who got how many votes. Not only this, the authorities are probably anti-Bengali as well. Because even though Arunita sang so well in Indian Idol 12, she was not selected as the winner. Amidst the Ram temple frenzy, Rishi's home in Ayodhya was announced as the winner of Indian Idol 13 and despite Subhdeep singing so well and Shreya Ghoshal so much praise on Indian Idol 14, a winner was announced who surprised himself. I don't watch this show anymore because of these things.
