I've just discovered that you can also play the first E chord by playing an E chord with your finger on second frett G string as well, sounds great open!,, thanks for the lesson bro!❤🇬🇧

Really clear and valuable help, especially the minor chords - just what I'd been trying to work out
@luapsel773 ай бұрын
Yeah there's no G chord, the first chord is A min7, NOT A minor- and sorry but you're playing the Intro wrong... LISTEN to the song.. And the singing........😥

If you were going to perform this song as a solo guitarist, you would use all these chords. But if you listen to the original studio recording, Kath's guitar is WAY back in the mix (if at all) other than the two points where it is doing solo riffs. What you hear is drums/bass/piano/horns/vocal. And, the piano chords are way up front in the mix. So if you wanted to do this in a band, you would really need to reduce your guitar volume during all the parts except for the solos and you would need that classic fuzz face (I'm assuming) distortion for the lead breaks, but an extremely clean sound for the rest. I've not seen a tutorial on the riffs, but obviously you would use whatever scale suits the chord at that point in the song. And, there really aren't any good live videos of the band performing the song where you can really see what the guitar player is doing for leads. The best one out there is a cover by Leonid & Friends.

The Dm7th in the final stab, why wouldn't that be considered an F ?
@MMMarvelous4 ай бұрын
You're a mile off on the bridge. First chord is Dbmaj7 for one thing, similar to Bbm9, but bass is Db, and virtually everything you play after that is wrong. You should also be playing a 9th note on the verse chords that alternates btwn the 9th & the octave. Thats the main riff of the song.

Some of the chords you play are not correct E7 -IS Em7b5 going to A7+ to Dm7 to G7 then Am sometimes you play a turnaround Dm to C In the chorus different inversion of Fm9 to Bb13 not Bb7 then Ebm9 to Ab13 to Gb major7 tthen it goes Gbm11 in different position

In the 80s we called smooth jazz, Fusion. Then in the 90s I heard the term smooth jazz. I was always mesmerized by this music. Great lesson!
