Im very glad to hear people crying at landing. From the information about the emergency it was a very serious scenario so I'm relieved im not having an adverse reaction and its in line.

“Your life jacket is below your seat. You do not need your life jacket, we are landing on land. Leave your life jacket where it is.” Although it's an emergency landing, that quote is a classic!

You chose to film 'terrified' passengers whilst ignoring safety regulations? And who the fuck asked you to film them? Desperate for attention much?

Why didn’t they use the 10 hour flight time to diagnose the problem, instead of immediately returning to LGW? Also, why did they dump fuel from both sides? They should have dumped the right wing tanks, and kept the left wing full to balance it out

I was just telling my friends at work about this - I was on this flight. This video is very well made and gives a very good insight to how it was on the plane!

No, no, no the people who tolerate me on a daily basis, those are the real heroes and, just as soon as he mentioned the preparing to brace talk would have been when I had my heart attack.

Kudos to the cabin crew being so calm and professional during an emergency landing. I can imagine how the cabin would sound and looked like if they weren't there.

They want you to stay in position for "dental records"? People like should be headbutted for stupid shit like that. And if you're worried about something as mundane as landing with 4 out of 5 landing gear, maybe flying isn't for you.

At the time VS43 was forced to make an emergency landing in Las Vegas, KSNV's sale to Sinclair Broadcast Group was recently completed. In the seven years since the sale of channel 3 happened, approximately 25% of the station's personnel have already left and the station has become less trustworthy. The quality of the station's news operation has degraded significantly, a far cry from what happened when Jim Rogers' group owned it. A similar situation happened when Sinclair acquired the owners of WJLA-TV in Washington the year before this; in both cases most of the talent that remained with the station for 5 or more years were forced out. One such person to be affected by this move was Jessica Moore, who was forced to leave KSNV; she would later begin working at WCBS-TV in the middle of 2016.

Don't call it a crash landing. There wasn't any crash. Just because the landing was a little harder, it's not a crash landing...

I am pleased you were ok if you were on the flight. I guess the plane had to land on its back wheels and slow down sufficiently to be brought to a stop on its belly?

Taking off from PE in south Africa, going thru the clouds, left wing gets a lighting strick, huge bamm, not a sound all round, as we get above the storm pilot comes on "surely you guys noticed the lightning strick, no worries folks, enjoy the flight"...

"... as a stricken Virgin Atlantic jet is forced to make an emergency crash landing" Sarah, this was not a "crash landing"; it technically _was_ an emergency landing, but in reality a bit more than precautionary. The pilots had to avoid putting pressure on the side of the aircraft with malfunctioning landing gear bogie, and did that perfectly. Then the rescue teams supported the side where the bogie failed to extend with a glorified jack one would use to change tires, and the emergency was over.

Now, this is the most professionally performed emergency landing I ever saw. It is amazing how sufficient but not overly detailed information and clear and composed instructions from the crew keeps passengers relatively calm - no screaming, no running around like headless chicken. Well done, Virgin!
