My older brother came back from the states to Ireland in 98 and gave me this CD because he didnt like it. I was 15 and it was one of 2 CDs I ever owned at the time (the other being Plastikman/Richie Hawtin). On my discman and very loud, I played those two CDs on my journey to and from school each day for over a year. When I needed more I took the CD into a music shop in Dublin and asked them for more of this and got iintroduced to the the music of Umek, Billy Nasty, Dave Clarke, Mills and lots more wonderful techno legends. This mix absolutley help shape my personality and life trajectory for which I'm incredibly greatful.

The band was really good, I am very intrigued not to know what happened to them and if they have more albums (more than this one and those of Mezzo DSA) it is really an enigma.

Wicked definitely played a pivotal role in the progression of the Bay Area rave scene; there isn’t any doubt about that. But to say it wouldn’t exist without them as one commenter here has is problematic and honestly, offensive to the huge numbers of deejays and ravers who were around BEFORE the emergence of Wicked. The fact is, these guys came to SF with a very British, very elitist and quite frankly, colonialist attitude…covering labels of their records, refusing to promote the artists behind the music, etc. They never played very nice with most outside their clique and the minute things got tough for them they turned on each other. Garth and Thomas still get props from me til this day but THIS guy, with his pretentious nonsensical umlaut at the end of his name? Nah.
