What a fabulous story told by Dr. Jahangir, and the imagery in this video was fantastic! I really felt like I was part of the trip to space! Great video!

Great Video ! With the Lunar Gateway made useless by the expansion of the Lunar Surface (LS) South Pole Lunar Outpost to a proper Lunar Base (Clementine Base) with a Fuel Depot nearby ! The NASA Lunar Gateway can be transported from orbit near the moon to Mars orbit by a Space Tug fueled by fuel from the Lunar Surface (LS) Fuel Depot ! The NASA Lunar Gateway later can be moved to dock with one of the moons of Mars ! The NASA Lunar Gateway once docked to a moon of Mars the Mars Colonists can mine the metals of the Regolith for Oxygen for the Mars Orbital Fuel Depot to support Mars Shuttles landing at the Mars Surface Base or ships returning to Earth ! tjl

Don't agree with Zubrin on some things, but I am glad he is getting closer to his dream. He's been struggling for years on this.

Nuclear is the way to go. The oil and gas companies are the ones pushing for anything but. No more sending young men to the middle east. I hope we make Mars before I am sent to my Gods Garden. Bless you all.

Charlie Duke, the Apollo 16 astronaut that walked on the Moon in April 1972?
@officialmoondao5 ай бұрын
Yep! 88 years young and still floating in zero gravity! Check out the interview we did with him the night before, right after the Intuitive Machines landing. On the flight we also had NASA astronauts Nicole Stott and Doug Hurlye.

Charlie came to Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth in 2016 to give a "talk" about the moon landing just before I retired and it was great. He was very approachable and answered a lot of questions afterwards. He was on the Apollo 16 crew but he was also the CAPCOM dude on Apollo 11. Great guy and an American hero.

The used spaceship concept is problematic for me. Sure, a used car could be 1/10 the cost of a new one. The stakes are vastly different if my car breaks down, or if a spaceship blows a seal 3 months in. There would be significant refitting cost to do on a used spaceship because if the ship was still cost effective to run by the original owner they would still be using it.

I like his comments about nuclear energy, but I don’t have as much faith in Cold War relic reactor design as he seems to have. I’ve offered wonder is actually impeding the advancement nuclear technology.

As far as energy goes. Why are solar, wind, and Nuclear the only options talked about. There would only be for Earth. But Geo-thermal for planets and moons with volcanoes. And Hydro-Thermal for Planets and moons with flowing liquid. These both work on Earth. They are green, and they can run 24/7 for decades with little maintenance. And it doesn't matter how far you are from the sun. Yes, they take a lot longer to build, and they cost more. But solar and wind are very limited. Both of these can start small and grow as the population and need for electricity grows. Not all Hydro needs to The Hoover Dam or the dam at Niagara Falls. There are plenty of saw mills that put a water wheel in a river. On Venus, you don't even need to dig. Cloud cities (at 30 miles up) could drop hoses down, and pump a fluid through the hoses. How far down or how thick the hose would be...I don't know. The electricity from these are never ending. They don't need to be refueled, scalable and no waste.

Elon Sees a fully Democratic government on Mars. NO, he doesn't want to part of the government. I think that will start good, but to will be subverted. It will probable change to a Republic over time.
@joezolo99867 ай бұрын
I don't remember Trump making any changes to NASA when he took office. Yes, he did. He created the Space Force. Trump did change the head of NASA, and they go rid of cost, plus projects. Now we should actually get back to the Moon. Bush first said he wanted to go back to the Moon. Obama cancelled the replacement to the Space shuttle and created the HLS. Big bonus to Elon and SpaceX. All of the NASA scientist that were lied off. Elon hired the best of them, Even though SpaceX started their trek to Mars after NASA, SpaceX looks to be further along than NASA.
