Whenever i hear this song i always feel that once the beat drops at “my father shook his head” i envision gleb fighting his sanity I see one of my habits when my sanity is dwindling from unneeded stress and like trying to rip out my hair and i see that sort of thing as he’s shaking his head especially during anya’s dialogue’s until “AND IN MY FATHER’S NAME” And then the dwindling sanity returns until “he does what’s necessary anya”
The reflection was AMAZING!!! I actually gasped when I saw the reflection of Act I Gleb & Anya with the gun pointed at her and had to replay it at least 3 times!!

Man I just found this today and can’t stop thinking about it. The details in the reflection of the Royal family. Young Anya from the first time she and Gleb met. Oh and Gleb looking in his reflection and seeing blood on his face. This is incredible.

I'm playing one of the Romanov sisters in Anastasia and this is my favorite song in the musical. I'm going to send this to my directors and see if we can incorporate some of the symbolism you added! I love this so much!

I've only seen the movie and not the musical, could somebody please fill me in on the context as I don't think this character was in the movie
@ivalicetifalucis5 ай бұрын
basically his character, Gleb Vaganov, is the villain in the musical instead of Rasputin and Bartok. There is no Rasputin and Bartok and all the magical aspects they have in the movie. The musical is instead more leaning to historical fiction with Gleb as Bolshevik general whom his father was one of the men who executed the Romanovs and is the villain who hunted for Anastasia. But there's also like a love triangle-ish aspect because Gleb sort of falls in love with Anya and half wishing she's not actually Anastasia. Anya still ends up with Dmitri though.

1:43 I absolutely love how she sees his conflict and emotions and even tries to comfort him, even if he wants to kill her. And how you cut off the resolution so it gives me an impression he did kill her (I have watched the musical)
@nethergollum42198 ай бұрын
alright be honest with me, which antagonist fits so much better into a plot and it's overall themes? Gleb Vaganov or Rasputin?
@caroline74203 ай бұрын
Oh definitely Gleb. But having a KGB officer hunting her down would be so so dark for a kids movie. It was much easier to just make Rasputin (who’s actually based on Alexi’s faith healer who became a trusted advisor of the throne and the Russian people believed was some sort of sorcerer cause he kept alluding death) the typical animated princess movie sorcerer villain makes way more sense and still holds some of the historical accuracy while making a great kids movie. Though Rasputin is still terrifying😂

This video proves that they should start making animated adaptations of Broadway shows. there's been plenty of animated movies (like Anastasia) turned into musicals, but I'm surprised there isn't anything the other way around. A lot of musicals could work as an animated movie like Cats (Steven Spielberg was even working on one before it was scrapped), Dear Evan Hansen, Jekyll and Hyde, etc.
@caroline74203 ай бұрын
I can’t even imagine an animated cats😂 it would probably be a lot less weird though.

It is based off of a movie. If you mean the Musical version of it I'm sorry

It would be amazing if done right but most of the recent Broadway->Live Action movies have been subpar. The only one that I love and have basically no complaints about is the 2021 West Side Story which makes me wonder: a Steven Spielberg Anastasia?? That would be amazing. And if they did it soon they could cast some of the same actors.

1:34. Tatiana’s on the right. She has darker hair than the rest of her sisters, and also her hair is up like Olga’s while Maria’s and Anastasia’s were always worn down. Olga is on the far right, her hair is also up but it’s much lighter than her sister’s. Next to her is Maria, she has dark hair like Tatiana and if you look close enough you can sure what look like a bow in her hair. This is because she often had ribbons and bows in her hair during pictures.
