Re bolt tightness when attaching the rails for anyone looking. If that is a Milwaukee, it stops at 40ftlbs. So 40+ the additional turn.

I'm unable to find Thule tracks with those styles of cap nuts. Are those aftermarket?
@CascadeRackBend3 ай бұрын
@@oceangoin79 We're using a mix of hardware here, the closest thing to what we install is this: www.cascaderack.com/yakima-tracks-60-wcapnuts-8001135-736745011352

@CascadeRackBend thank you! I actually found the Thule tracks and purchased everything. I will fine tune hardware and install using this video. Much appreciated.

Why not just glue it with koemmerling or sikaflex??

RTV does a great job at sealing the holes, isn't corrosive, and readily available. We're not looking to bond the track to the cap as we're using mechanical fasteners for that. You would be surprised how often we have to repair/replace tracks from low speed collisions.

Will this support a roof top tent?
@CascadeRackBend4 ай бұрын
In theory, but check with your truck cap manufacturer for specifics. They'll be able to provide a dynamic and static weight capacity for your specific model.

looks like you guys cut the thule tracks? Did you bother painting it after cutting it? And how long were the bolts u guys used? I know you need something longer with the carpeted inside Thank you, awesome video
@CascadeRackBend Жыл бұрын
The track brands that we sell all use aluminum. We'll generally paint the end of the track, but it's also not visible with the end cap installed. The bolt length depends on the thickness of the canopy where the tracks are installed. We stock a multitude of lengths so we can capture the screw inside the capnut.

Might be important to note the fibreglass canopy doent seem to have an internal support frame so the load rating on the cross bars would be crucial to know.
@CascadeRackBend Жыл бұрын
Maximum weight capacity depends on the fiberglass cap manufacturer and they are not all made the same. The maximum weight capacity of this crossbar system is 220 lbs. on road. Static weight capacity is more, but depends on what your fiberglass canopy manufacturer provides.

Do these ever leak? I’ve only heard bad stories.
@CascadeRackBend3 ай бұрын
@@ermnowwhere We've never had one leak on us. This stuff is easily repaired if you do run into an issue.

What sealant do you recommend? Hard to tell exactly what is shown...

It's an RTV Gasketmaker. Permatex or Loctite works just fine, and we use the black color.

I have the same truck cap .a Leer 100XQ.with Bed Rug and a coat hook .so the Mittel of the Cap looks like it has a Bord or something like this. So, i think its better to go to the corners as far as i can like you show in your video.or what do you think. So, how many inches or cm are you away from the middle for the rails? Greets from Germany

Was those 64 in cross bars?
@CascadeRackBend Жыл бұрын
On a mid sized truck we'll usually use either the 60 inch or 54 inch bars.....this install looks like the 60 inch bars.

What’s the weight rating on this? With it being an aftermarket install does it limit rating for attachments?
@CascadeRackBend Жыл бұрын
A 2 bar system will have an on road weight rating of 165 lbs. Most consumer canopies can withstand this, but it is best to check with the canopy manufacturer to ensure that your specific model is capable.

MAATTT I love this song. If you can ever find the person who provided this for you, can you get a music sheet or ask him to write a full song? I love this and I have a guitar I am learning to play. I want to do it so bad and the song inspires me so much to get outdoors!!! I am an Eagle Scout and the one thing I never want to stop doing is camping. If not, when I have some money, I look forward to having your company provide me with awesome camping equipment!!
